they would win no games without their defense just like we would have won minimal games without Daniels

Only if they bring their schedule with them.

It’s just slow white guys tackling slower white guys.

But I’m not complaining! Nice to be home on a Friday afternoon watching football!

So why don’t you want Nebraska’s D staff or all the rest of big ten west’s teams D staff
They are all ranked pretty high
There is a reason for that

Iowa plays with slow white boys who know their assignments and make tackles. It’s called fundamental coaching.
LSU does not have that.

They play sound fundamental football. They have excellent gap integrity and seem to have great closing speed and exceptionally good tackling. You don't think that would translate to better athletes?

Their DC has been there for a decade. Why hasn’t anyone money whipped him if he’s the bees knees?

It would translate somewhat but they have 7 games a year against the worst offenses in p5 football

They are going to get 40+ put on them next week against either offense
Michigan and Ohio st have 2 good offenses but nothing special

Is Parker a good recruiter- does he like to recruit- is he going to connect with the types of athletes we recruit here

The defensive coaching at Iowa is solid. I don’t think anyone is going to dispute that. The issue is that it isn’t a big time recruiting staff and none of them has major connections to our region. That has to be addressed along with coaching with the new defensive staff.

He's been there for over 2 decades, though not all as DC.

1999–2011 Iowa (DB)
2012 Iowa (DC)
2013–present Iowa (DC/DB)

But he has put together a top-15 defense for the last 6 seasons.

I don't know what their recruiting prowess is in the area they would typically recruit but that is a legitimate concern.

I think a lot of defenses look good in the Big 10 West

Penn State is the only team to put up more than 16 points against them. Iowa fumbled the ball over a couple of times deep in Iowa territory vs Penn State which set up their offense for an easy score.

this. People don’t understand the big 10 west doesn’t have one offense rank in the top 75.

The offenses in the conference suck except for Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn St when they're not playing Ohio St or Michigan.

I bet you anything every player on that defense is a 5th year senior. LSU will never have that scenario so apples and oranges and such.

10 teams are ranked 94th or worse in scoring offense.

that means 10 teams in the big 10 average less than 23 points a game.
