This is off one of the West Virginia boards. I don't know whether to believe it or not. I'll just say that there's nothing that can't be believed.
The Post:
"I know people on here all the time say they have these sources but I honset to god have one and if you dont believe me, I dont care because facts are facts.....I wouldnt lie to any fellow Mountaineer fans...
Ok, so people here are just hearing about this new meeting with RR and Bill Martin but this is actually RR's second meeting with the group from UM...A call was placed by one of Bill Martins asst. to a friend of mine who went to WVU...she asked him if Morgantown had an airport and other questions about the town....this was at the end of Nov i think....They had their first meeting with RR on Sat. Dec 8th, in Morgantown. .....that is tidbit one but it gets better.
Les Miles was not and I cant say this with enough shock in my voice, UM's number one choice....I know this is odd and will throw many for a loop but Greg Schiano was actually their first choice....on Monday the 3rd of Dec. the job was offered to Mr. Schiano and he told them he would give them an answer by the end of the week.....He accepted the job on the 6th of Dec. and scheduled a meeting with his team for Friday but Friday morning decided against the move and turned down the offer......again, I swear this is all true.
Now I still believe, along with my source, who is very very very tight with UM, lets say commitee members who are under Bill Martin, that Les Miles is still interested in the job and is just blowin smoke but he says that if UM doesnt fill the position by the National Champ that they will get Miles.
Now salary....UM is willing to offer a base salary of 3.5 mill a year...does that mean every candidate or just a coach like Les Miles or Urban Myer ( who is interested even though he said he isnt) ...I dont know if they would offer taht kinda money to RR....
I dont really care if he leaves or not up to this pt....any guy that would try to leave every year to get leverage for money is a bum to me......The only reason I wouldnt like to see him go is it would be hard to find another big name for the money...."
Like I said, it could be possible.

I knew it was bogus after this part.

It could be possible, but it could also be a "monkeys with typewriters" scenario.

Doubtful, at best.
Then again, if Miles wasn't their #1 choice, some of his actions would make a lot more sense...

So Bill Martin has to call his friend to find out if Morgantown has an airport? That's where you lost me.

sounds like to me some of the rants sources made friends with west virginia fans all of a sudden

If they wait on Miles, Michigan better sure as hell have him in the bag and know it. Otherwise, Miles will have claim on all of their first-borns, because they will be forced to give him darn near whatever he wants.

If I were Les Miles and found out that they offered the job to three other people before me that had no ties to Michigan, I would tigerbait their arse and tell them to frickoff.

I have a friend who i swear has an unbelievable psychic monkey!
Wait! don't leave. This monkey has predicted global warming which proves how smart the monkey is. He is a personal consultant to Al Gore. He is responsible for the insight into ManBearPig!!!
This monkey has assured him that Les Miles is on his way to ..... Baskin Robbins. That's right. His dream above the Michigan job has always been to head Baskin Robbins. He is just waiting for the title game to take his rightful spot as the king of ice cream.
He has always wanted to bring ice cream cake to the forefront of all desserts!

I knew it was bogus because it suggested there was an internet connection and a telephone in West Virginia.

You will bow down to the monkey when Miles takes the Robbins Job!!!

Regardless of the final outcome, Miles speaking with Michigan last week; the lament in his voice - "its a shame I can't coach at two different places..."; and calls to Michigan's AD prior to the SEC championship game are not signs of a man disinterested in the job.
