You can probably say the same thing about every coach on LSU's staff, at some point they all were at a school you don't like

Gotta love that ole Tech/ULM hate.

See, this is why these schools should be playing each other every year. But that would give the people what they want...can't do that.

That would give the 7 fans in Monroe what they want. Tech fans don't give a crap. We'd just blow their sorry asses out and fill their crappy stadium up with Blue anyway. Let's not bring the JuCo down the road into this.

When have the Lady Techsters ever filled any stadium with blue?

It is interesting to me how tech "fans" think LSU should play you, yet you won't play a school 30 minutes away. You and I know there is only one reason and it is because you are afraid you will lose to them. If you are so sure you will blow ULM out, that is one more reason to play them. You guys aren't exactly rolling in wins.

No, honestly I couldn't care less. ULM always starts this shite, and our fans have nothing to do with whether or not we play them. They bring NO ONE to Ruston for the games. At least we bring a big contingent of Tech fans to Baton Rouge. ULM has been crying especially ever since Dooley made his "elite" comment. Maybe they should try having fans first. If Tech plays in Funroe, I'll be there just like I would any other game. Screw the Chickenhawks.

ULM had its day in Div 1-AA. Like Tech it has struggled in moving up. Tech is a few years ahead, but a far piece from arriving.

Yea, it was so awesome how you guys scheduled a home game with Nicholls State instead. That was...thrilling. People still talk about that game.

Playing at LSU I understand; can't pass that opportunity up. But why take a 2000 mile road trip to Navy? Moreover, why take a 2000 mile road trip to Navy and get your arse blown out? Instead, why not go 25 miles down the road and beat ULM and, as you say, "fill their crappy stadium up with Blue." They way you yourself say it makes it sound like a lot of Tech people would in fact care about this game. Right?

And I love how Tech played Southeast Louisiana at home in 2008, Central Arkansas in 2007, Nicholls State again in 2006, North Texas in 2005, ULL in 2004...I could go on. If you are going to play teams like these, I fail to understand why Tech will not play ULM. Maybe deep down, Tech really is afraid that they are not that different from ULM and just might get embarrassed.

Nicholls doesn't require a return trip.

Navy will be playing in Ruston this year.

SE Louisiana... 1 game series... no return.
UCA... 1 game series... no return.
Nicholls... 1 game series... no return.
UNT was the 4 time Sun Belt champs when the 2 game series was scheduled (home and away)... Tech won both games.
ULL... we respect them and they don't play in our back yard.

I would think tech wants ulm to die, more funding for tech. There realy is no need for 3 4 yr schools to be that close. That's not counting lsus.

Maybe it's because I don't bother enough to keep track of other Louisiana schools, but ULL and ULM seem to be on relatively even footing as far as actual on-field ability goes... so why respect ULL and not ULM?

I heard that both teams feel somebody they are next for the home game. ULM wouldn't give in so Tech said screw it. ULM got it's feeling hurt and trys to call out Tech through the back channels (media, alum etc). Tech countered by stating if you really want the game we will start off with a 1 and done at Tech and work from there. ULM got its feelings hurt again and started the Tech is scared through the media. Dooley makes an "elite" comment and everybody blows it out of proportion. If ULM really wants this game, they should play at Tech to see if they can bring the fans. We avg around 18k with out them. The ULM game has never sold out. We have 7 homes games next year without ULM. We are getting quality opponents in our at The Joe (Navy, USM). As far a ULL, we played them 6 years ago. FCS schools, majority if schools schedule them, so why is that held against us?

Why should Tech play ULM again?

Because right now Tech has no rivalry.

Playing ULM would create excitement, buzz, and fun. It would provide a boost to the entire north LA area. People would get up much more for a Tech-ULM game over a game between Tech and Nicholls, Central Arkansas, ULL, etc. And even though you don't want to admit it, people would get up more for a Tech-ULM game than they would for any of your games with Utah State, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Idaho, Nevada.

Answer this: for what game did Tech draw the largest crowd in the history of Aillet Stadium?

Hint: a lot of people saw it as a great game and wanted to be there; Tech almost sold out its stadium.
