I'm thinking Crowton will stay with Jefferson for one more year

before changing things a little to accomodate Mettenberger and Rivers. The best success in utilizing Jefferson's skills still remains with Crowton unless Gonzales is in play.

The only thing they could do is reassign Crowton and bring in Kragthorpe after sometime in recruiting is done. Kragthorpe could also be a QB coach only with Gonzales as playcaller

sadly, I think you're right. I hope BP is right and Crowton is most likely gone, but it needs to happen soon if that is the case.

Yep, and I am fine with this. I do not want to go into next year with a new QB or a new OC. JJ finally looked like he's figured the offense out in the last 3 games.

Guess you missed the Arky game. JJ does better when he has 3+ weeks to prepare, i.e. bowl games. Week to week, he looks lost out there.

It might be for the best that GC stay with JJ. I cringe saying that, but JJ is just now looking comfortable and though I hope RM will compete, I see him playing more of a role for 2012. But what the hell do I know?

not much about coaching obviously.

We were feeling pretty good about the QB after the Georgia Tech game too.

right, ignore the whole season and focus on the game he had a month to prepare; totally makes sense.

you need to go look up how long hes had "to figure out the offense".

1 offseason isnt going to produce some Peyton Manning football IQ brah....

For Christ sakes people.. he only threw 150 fricking yards and 112 of them went only to 1 WR...

He looked even better as a freshman in the Peach Bowl. How many lives does this guy have?

I don't expect a Peyton Manning, but I do think he can get us to 175 yards passing, and have 60-75 yards rushing per game. This would get LSU in the NCCG, IMO. I just don't think a change would put us in a good position for next year. I'll let Mett play a game in the FBS before I anoint him too.

True, but he (as usual) made some pretty important runs also. It isn't like the passing game is all that he does ... fortunately.

Try about 250 yards per game. That's what our great receivers should get. Combine that with an arsenal of running backs and we open up a can whup arse every week. And I believe Les will get us there.

Just wondering why the blame is on Crowton, I think the problem is with the quaterbacks not progressing.

If LSU's QB accounts for ~250 yards of total offense, we will be just fine. We should run for at least 150-175 with the RBs.

I hope they're going to let Mettenberger compete for the spot. He committed to us for a reason, and I'm sure that reason had something to do with the opportunity to play QB. If he's the better QB, I hope he will get some playing time. Honestly, I am tired of seeing JJ and Lee out there. Sure, JJ played well in the Cotton Bowl. But, he just isn't a consistent player in that position. If LSU wants to be able to compete for a BCS bowl this next year (NCG or Sugar), we HAVE to get our offensive act together. We've been plagued by lack of Offensive threat for three seasons now.
