I’m sick and tired of the political BS and all of the talk of ‘wokeness.’

Nobody should care about the color of the skin of our next head coach. I just want a good coach who knows at least one side of the ball extremely well and can oversee a football program with class and efficiency. If that happens to be Dave Aranda or Mel Tucker, then so be it! If it happens to be Luke Fickell or Mark Stoops, then so be it. Whoever Woodward pulls the trigger on will be my guy and the leader of the Tigers and I don’t give a crap about politics. Keep that shite on the polyboard, assholes.

Idk what has gotten into some of these folks. LSU is simply going to get the best coach available and there’s nothing that should suggest otherwise. Look at what Scott has done so far.
ETA apparently radio guys are reporting otherwise. I am not in BR and therefore haven’t heard this.

Baton Rouge radio guys are saying that Tate wants to make a legacy hire and be the president that had the first minority football coach at LSU.

Numerous outlets have said that Tate has specifically mentioned hiring a minority candidate. But read in just about every single LSU fans posts, we don't care about race, we just want the best, period. If that's Aranda, awesome! If it's Franklin, awesome!
It's not us that made this an issue at all, we friggin don't care what race the person is, just get the damn best.

There is no clip or actual source. It's a Baton Rouge taking head "hearing" that Tate said this. But the rant takes it for fact and melts over it.

So if this is only a rumor, stop the ‘woke’ bullshite. Until it’s on the record that LSU is targeting African-American coaches only…stop the political whining about wokeness. Perhaps, our best candidate will be black and if that’s the way it is, then that’s the way it is. What I don’t want to hear is a bunch of middle-aged white guys bitching about Mel Tucker or Dave Aranda being hired because of their minority status and LSU being ‘woke.’ Clearly, these guys have proven that they’re worthy of consideration.

I think OP is forgetting that none of us brought race into this. It has been reported that Tate did. It wasn’t reported that state said “go hire the best candidate.” It was reported that he wanted a person of color. You act like LSU fans started this conversation. Had Tate never said it and Tucker was hired, we’d have all trusted Woodward. Now it seems like he is not trying to hire the absolute best candidate. This is all on Tate. If he’d have said “I want to only hire a white coach” people would have been equally as pissed.
