I'm more excited about Vance Joseph than O

The reasoning behind bringing O in is that he is a good enough position coach but one hell of a recruiter. I think that Joseph could probably match O in recruiting, given his ties to the NO area. This definitely helps soften the blow if negoations were to fall through with O.

i haven't been following this very closely because i got tired of the rumors and speculation. is there any truth to the joseph thing? why would he leave the NFL?

Maybe Singletary is about to get rid of some Nolan guys?

This was a quote on the 24th, a few days ago...doesn't sound like he's thinking of getting rid of them:
quote:
"It starts with the staff," Singletary said. "Greg, Johnnie Lynn, V.J. (Vance Joseph), Jason (Tarver). I just think those guys are working their tails off to really try and put our defense, looking at the talent level that we have, the personnel ... give them the best chance to win."

LSU may have been part of VJ's backup plan...

it's just very hard for me to believe that this guy is going to leave the NFL to accept the same position at LSU

where did the vance joseph rumors come from?
other than being a coach who may or may not be fired and being from this area, what else do we have?
i know his LSU connections (terry joseph, sammy joseph)

he might have played at Colorado when Miles was on the staff there, not sure though.

no you're off by several years, Miles left Colorado in the mid 80s, Joseph was at CU in the mid 90s
