I would be cool with chip kelly but it would be awhile to warm up to him. he has just always come off as a turd and an a-hole.
i dont see him leaving the nfl though.
Gundy, ugh that would be a letdown. A letdown in a sense that I dont think he is a top tier coach or even a second tier, and Aranda is gone in a few years.
I think Jimbo is the best choice long term for LSU. Herman would be great because it would be a big frick you to the media and Texas. Fwiw, Herman would be gone within 5 years I think

Setting aside the possibility of outright prevarication, there is only one optimistic explanation of tonight's events that is consonant with the evidence. We can safely say that Jimbo was offered the job. The Hanny/Doucette tweet confirmed that. It's subsequent deletion made it more, not less, credible. Jimbo either accepted that offer or declined it. Assuming he accepted it or is still considering it, DA's posts are misdirection intended to camoflouge the Jimbo deal and allow it to be consummated with minimal interference. They also represent DA's attempt to atone for his premature leaks of last fall.
The alternate explanation - that Jimbo has declined and that Herman has suddenly materialized as an almost assured alternative - isn't supported by any of the evidence I've reviewed on any board, though God knows I'd love it to be true.
Again, this is the most likely optimistic interpretation. There are other, darker explanations as well, but I prefer not to indulge the fear that the search is in jeopardy tonight.
The other possibility, of course, is that the supposed insiders here are just liars, but as I noted above, I've excluded that theory for present purposes.
This is just my own deduction, I have no sources. Just playing a game to pass the time.

I agree with everything you just said. I think Jimbo is just a Sexton pawn. I hope for Herman.

I have a feeling Jimbo is leveraging us along with Sexton for everything and more and will end up staying at FSU with a hefty bonus and incentives.
That will leave us Herman and we will need Texas to kick arse Friday but I fear they fire strong no matter what and hire Herman.
