Not once did I do that.

We held OM to its lowest point output at home this year and Vandy to its second lowest.

Vandy scored 17 vs missouri and 14 vs bama.
31 vs lsu, south car, and texas

I mainly want baker back for continuity. He's an exceptional DC but we rarely have trouble attracting those.....but hires can be tricky and even ones that look good on paper, don't always pan out.

The defense was not the problem in the Ole Miss game, but they looked unprepared and outmatched.

I saw them not be able to get off the field when it mattered. They had multiple opportunities to help themselves and didn't do it. Especially with some stupid penalties that kept drives alive. I saw them allow Ole Miss to convert 50% of their third downs and go 2/2 on 4th down.

Outside of the first two drives of the game, I saw them march down the field at will pretty much even with the fumble right before he goes into the end zone.

Is that fumble considered a stop? Sure, but the defense was Swiss cheese on that drive. Completions of 23, 16, 32.

Guys are running wide open.

Damn, Ole miss offense must suck if an outmatched and unprepared defense held them to their lowest score of the season.

Imagine if we had been prepared and not outmatched

Oh i do too, especially if the rumored hazelton is the other option. But while his defense is good against non mobile qbs, i can acknowledge its weakness against upper level offenses with good running qbs. Which im afraid would be the type of offenses we would see in the playoffs. Im sure his defense is good enough to get us to the playoffs. But i wanna know if he can Take me higher

We'd be in the playoff this year with an average offense

So a creatively semantic way of saying "I am just focused on all the bad teams we played well against the majority of the season and none of the good teams that the defense played poorly against in games that mattered. And BTW, this means I am not cherry picking because I say so"

Got it. Thanks for clarifying.

You're doing that now. All you're doing is looking at the other games on the schedule against teams that have offenses as bad as ours. Tech is 86th in offense, Oklahoma is 91st, South Carolina and Florida are in the 100s.

WKU is 49th but isn't a serious team. Neither is SELU.

I understand that you play who is on the schedule and Baker can't help that, but at least provide some context for what you're arguing against.

MAYBE. Just maybe, the defensive stats are skewed a little bit based off of the teams we have played??

You love deflecting and not arguing any points. You've provided no insight to any argument other than "You're cherry picking" or "Baker is good and you're wrong" and then adding emojis.

Do you think the defense played great against any good offensive competition this season? If so, who?

Maybe so, we’d prob have finished 10-2 with an average offense and would still get booted. Getting to the playoffs is great, i do wanna win once we get there though, i think baker would have to adapt his scheme to do that, which he hasnt done yet. Its overly aggressive IMO

No stupid. I looked at our season as a whole, not picking and choosing which games to focus on. Again, teh literal opposite of what you are doing.

Nope.

I've argued points the whole thread. You ignore them then go off on rambling nonsense.

Yes, without question. They held OM to their lowest score of the year and held Vandy to their third lowest. Both games on the road.

They also were the 15th scoring defense against the 6th hardest schedule, so the fact of the matter is the defense was elite and not why we lost games.

You do realize that Ole Miss played us, Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas, Miss. State, South Carolina in conference and that they are a combined 9-39 in SEC games, right?

Add that they played Georgia State, Tulane, the Citadel and Washington State out of conference and it ain't that difficult of a schedule to where 24 is the baseline.

A complimentary offense with this defense would have been a legit contender to win it all.

Look at you cherry picking some more. Their SOS was 40 btw, so not the cake walk you try to make it. Keep going though, you're doing great

You either aren't really an LSU fan or you are new. What Baker has done here is amazing. We went from a defense ranked 108 to 25, and he's not that good, lol. GTFOH.

Buddy, you obviously didn't because you refuse to acknowledge how shitty the offenses were on the other schedule. A quarter of the teams we played had offenses ranked 86 or worse. WTF are you talking about?

Again with the deflecting. "I ARGUE POINTS AND NOT RAMBLE!!" (fails to make a single point)

Wow, we have a little substance here finally!! So you think the defense played well against Vanderbilt when this was their drive chart:

TD
TD
Downs
FG
TD
TD
Punt
Punt
End of game drive where they were on our 1-yard line and held it for 3:00 and would've punched it in.

Got 3 stops all game. Offense didn't even play as bad as they have most of the season in this game.

Defense played great first two drives against Ole Miss. After that, they let them march all up and down the field. After that it was,

FG
Punt
Fumble (would've been a score)-but OM went right down the field and made our D look like Swiss cheese.
TD
TD
Punt
INT
TD
End of game where they couldn't get a stop and OM was in the red zone.

Both teams converted 50% of their third downs.

Im not sure how anyone who watched us play vandy could think the defense played okay or even average. They scored 31, and would 38 if not for the mercy kneel down. The offense played decently trying to keep lsu in it.

Here is the defensive drive chart for that game:
Td
Td
Turnover on downs
Fg
Td
Td
Punt
Punt
End game with ball

So we stopped them from scoring 3 times out of 8 and 3 timed out of 9 if you count the milk clock at the end. Thats downright bad

I will again ask who played better and did better than us? You will again deflect.

You have no argument against us having a top defense while playing the 6th toughest schedule with a greater than 100 ranked offense.

Again with the deflecting.

Yea, I'm the one deflecting

None of that shite fricking matters. How many points did they score? That is the only stat that means anything, and we held OM to their lowest and Vandy to their third lowest. The end
