I don't get why people on here think Riley would just give a big frick you to OU after the game. He has to get back with players and everything. Let the dust settle and see what happens Sunday/Monday.

It's that he specifically said he would not coach LSU, he could've literally said anything but that.

It's not that he denied it, but the extremely blunt, specific, straight forward way that he did. If he was coming to LSU he would have given the same statement he gave earlier this week.

He said he won't be the next head coach. He's not lying. Brad Davis will be the interim for the bowl game.

He's not going to deflate his team after they already lost to a conference rival.

He could've literally said he would not coach LSU at any point in the last week, but didn't.

Coaches lie to the media all the time.

I'm saying that his team is already upset about losing to their rival (other than TX) and that he's not going to say in a postgame PC that he's leaving his team on the same night they played hard and lost.

In other words, he's not going to rub salt in the wound.

Y’all will forgive him when Scott hands him a Tiger jersey with a #1 on it

Woodward shouldn’t give him past Monday to make a decision. The season is over for OU, you either leave or you don’t. Monday morning by 9 am, have an answer or move on.

Y'all are reading too much into it. He still loves his players and coaches. He will go.out the right way. He just lost-prob mad. Not well we lost- I'm heading to LSU now. He has prob been asked a million times about it too.

I have a hard time believing this type of play on things is what's up.

Delivery is the key. He sounded annoyed he was having to answer it. Like he had enough.

Ed O during his presser:
“This is my last game with the Tigers. Me and the administration have mutually decided I will not coach the bowl game. Coach Brad Davis is going to be the interim coach. And then I told the guys I wish them luck. You know, I’m not going to sit here and coach when there’s another guy coming to be the head coach next week or the week after, I’m not going to do that. This is my team. As soon as they get a new head coach I was going to go.”

Obviously Ed knows who it is. But him saying “this week or next week” has me under the assumption that he didn’t know if the new coach would be playing in a conference championship next week.

Main point is that he's not going to deflate his team after they lost to their rival.

You can spin the 'next' coach thing any way you want but no coach would announce he's splitting after his team lost at the end of the season on the same night they played a conference rival not named Texas.

Bruh the mental gymnastics some of y’all do. Probably think that girl from high school was actually really into you after breaking down her code talk for the past several years
