You obviously haven't been following some of the resident Gumps on this board. Their defensiveness over this "nothing to it" rumor has been nothing short of comical.

I can see Chicken and/or the admins banning quite a few of them if Saban does indeed leave.

I"m sure that Paul realizes this is a business decision for Nick. They won't become mortal enemies if Saban goes to TX like most of the gump fanbase will. They will remain cordial. Think of it as a professional courtesy. Hell, UT may be footing the bill for the flight.

I know it give some LSU fans some sort of perverse pleasure to think that the Bama fanbase at large will implode if Saban leaves but the truth is the size of the nutty element of the Alabama fanbase in proportion to the fanbase as a whole is EXTREMELY overstated. Of the dozens of Alabama fans I know, there are literally ZERO that would be shocked if Saban left for Texas this year and about the same number that would be appreciative of what he accomplished at Alabama.

Impressive how they shopped in this weekend's ULL v South AL and AU v Missouri scores on the right but forgot to change the date of the article.

We will soon enough, he can't have more than 4-5 yrs left. Although I really hope he becomes AD to replace Bill Battle.

I guess it would all depend upon the severity of the meltdown.

Yeah in 4 years, Saban will retire, Bama will throw him a parade, and ESPN will give him a two week blow job as a legend ends his career.

Will corndog nation melt down then? Will they finally admit they were wrong, that he wouldn't break up with us like he did them?

Saban's name will come up for jobs until he dies. We'll be hearing "Saban wants to come out of retirement... I have sources" years after he finally does retire.

That's entertaining as well. To say it's IMPOSSIBLE like theyre acting, is just being naive.

That's just it though. There are very few if any Bama fans who are "trying to pretend they aren't the least bit worried" yet people run with this unfounded idea that Alabama fans thinks there's no way on earth that Saban would leave. You are making that up because for some weird reason it's important to many LSU fans that Alabama fans are proven wrong.

Per my high-level source(internet), he was in B-ham last night throwing the KY rumor off the tracks.
