While I haven't been a restless supporter of Orgeron during the last couple of months, I've surely been on his side regarding him taking the coaching position. Ive ignored facts and past failures and am here to eat my crow pie. Let's face it, all of our good opponents and even some bad ones (UF) have beaten us. Is there anything to hang our hats on this season? Coach O is a great man but we should know and realize that great men don't always make great coaches. He gave it a shot and the barrel blew up in his face yesterday. Let's make a good hire and turn this baby upside down.

I honestly think he's done a pretty good job. Honestly, he has probably exceeded his expectations with this team.

His flaws were shown in all phases yesterday. We should thank him and commend him for salvaging this season, but he isn't head coaching material at a school like LSU.

The look on his face last night says it all. He knew his chances were slim now.

I'll be honest, I was anti-orgeron from the beginning but if it comes down to him or a 3rd tier hire I'd probably still run with him and see what he can do w/ a good OC.

I just felt like we should exhaust all other options before handing him the job.

I wish all the Coach Oeaux supporters were like you. Everything you just said in the quote above is true, I just hope other Coach Oeaux supporters will wake up and see and think the same thing!!!

Please explain how you were able to do this.

He was always going to regress to the mean.

I agree. I was cautiously optimistic about him taking the helm as interim, and never got on the "Hire O Now" wagon. Unless Alleva has a commitment sewn up, he should still be considered, IF he agrees to make the necessary changes to the offensive staff.

If anything there is a sliver lining. This might help O realize he is a quality DL coach/recruiter and would help him stay at LSU. I don't think there is a lsu fan out there would want him to go. Does he deserve a HC gig ? Yeah may be at a low- mid level P5. ULL would be a great fit if he goes the HC route. I would do anything to keep him.

Here's my thing -if he's learned so much and wants so badly to be a HC he should quit trying ti take short cuts to land at jobs out of his league.

Go to a smaller school and build it up and show you can build and maintain a successful program.

I commend you not for changing your mind but by giving him a shot.

There are some dopes here who wouldn't want him retained if he won a national championship.

He was never going to win a national championship.

"Give him a shot"

Some of you are fricking ridiculous. It's like you don't understand the value of LSU football.
