This is a perfect scenario where auburn has leverage and can pay him cheap and give raise if he succeeds. I dont understand how agents bully athletic directors into outrageous salaries. Other schools are not bidding for steele. So why not say we will give you 1 million per year and raise/extension down the road. If he bitches about the money then tell him to get lost

yeah it will be paycut in short term but can make 6-7 million if he does well. They need to make an unproven coach earn a salary.

Make him the highest paid coach in CFB and give him a generous buyout. He deserves it, and it's good for the program if recruits and staff can buy into the long-term future of Auburn football knowing that it's in good hands for a long time.

Well, would you take a promotion at your job if they told you you had to take a pay cut and see how you work out in the new position?

Well, they'd have to factor in the loss of revenue from the stadium being empty on Saturdays. So he probably would have to take a pay cut.

I would hate to know how little your job pays you if you think this is a good deal.

My point is Steele is not qualified. Give a 4 mill or whatever the rate is but not for 5 years

4.5 is a decent sized bass but I've caught bigger.
