Pete Carroll did this already.

Bill Belichick has done more than Pete and Nick put together.

I dont think Dabo would leave the comfort of the ACC for the meatgrinder of the SEC. Nick barely got by Georgia the last two years. If Dabo comes and loses to Kirby he's going to be raked over the coals.

His rant after the South Carolina game didn’t indicate that.

Jimmy Johnson won 2 Super Bowls and 1 NC at Miami. Had JJ stayed at Miami he would have won at least 5 NC's.

This list of high profile coaches definitely receive calls. No real order after 1 and 2

1. Dabo Swinney
2. John Harbaugh
3. Urban Meyer
4. Bob Stoops
5. James Franklin
6. David Shaw
7. Chris Petersen

Only Dabo and John Harbaugh would realistically consider it. Harbaugh would take the right NFL offer over Alabama.

The list of dark horse candidates is next in no real order.

1. Lane Kiffin
2. Jeremy Pruitt
3. Dan Enos
4. Freddie Kitchens
5. Bill Clark
6. Mark Stoops
7. Jeff Brohm
8. Matt Campbell
9. Mel Tucker
10. Mario Christobal
11. Paul Chryst
12. Josh Heupel
13. Mike Norvell
14. Dino Babers
15. Mark Dantonio
16. Kyle Wittingham
17. Gary Patterson
18. Joe Moorhead
19. Hugh Freeze
20. Neal Brown
21. Jack Del Rio
22. Bill O'Brien
23. Jason Garrett
24. Kyle Shannahan

There are over 90 NFL/P5 head coaches. Each have 2 coordinators. Add 60+ G5 coaches. Then guys not currently coaching.

I narrowed that shite down a lot

I feel like most 'Bama fans recognize how special this era is for them.

A Nick Saban-type of coach does not grow on trees. There are one or two truly exceptional coaches every generation and Alabama is the only program that has gotten two of them in the 'modern' era.

Dabo has the 'one of us' edge that can keep him safe. He'll win a lot of games, have a few truly remarkable seasons and probably survive for a very long time.

Hell, what is his worst season recently? For all we know, Dabo could get to Alabama and do better than Nick Saban has.

God, I hope not...

He'd pick up and continue the run and is probably the only person capable of doing so.

Yep, that rant confirmed to me he’s Bama bound as soon as Saban retires...10 years from now.

You are assuming Bama fans are rational. Let him lose the UGA his first two years in Atlanta and drop a game here and there in the regular season and two years in they’ll want him gone.

Bama has been in the playoffs every year it’s existed. Anything less and a sizable, loud portion of the fan base will be up in arms.

I could see him staying at Clemson 5-7 more years, letting Bama hire someone else that lets the program slide, and then momma calls Dabo home to bring them back to Saban levels.
