Why can't we save the class and make the right hire at the same time?It's simple.We should have been playing both sides this whole time.Trying to keep Miles and looking for a replacement.If Miles leaves and the AD hasn't already been working to find the replacement then he needs to go.You've got to plan ahead not stand pat.This is a business.

I hope we have prepared for this eventuality, have spoken to a number of candidates, and are ready to offer our next coach the minute Miles says he's leaving.

The only problem with hiring someone the minute after we lose Miles is that it precludes any coach who is not familiar with the LSU vacancy from being considered.
I hope they give it several days at least. See who's out there. See if anyone unexpected would be interested in the job.
