"It's really not even debatable" if you're an LSU fan.

Oklahoma has higher annual football/athletics revenue, a better legacy ...

The best you can hope for is to be considered a lateral move and win by splurging.

Come on man. Reading comprehension.

His point is OU’s advantages dissipate once they move to the SEC. This is totally exclusive of LSU or our opinion of OU.

Don’t be so obtuse.

Their higher revenue and richer legacy dissipate?

If you say so

Modern coaches don't care about dusty old accolades. It has no effect on them. Since OU won its last NC, LSU has played for four and won three, beating OUs arse twice along the way. That doesn't mean Riley will leave, but there is zero doubt about which program has the better legacy over the last two decades.

The supposed point was that Oklahoma was a "much worse job"

That's nonsensical. No useful metric supports that.

The difference is negligible

Not lately they don’t. What happened in 1975 only matters so much in 2021

It’s not right now

It will be in the SEC. They will suffer a similar (though not as dramatic) drop off that Arkansas had when they came to the league.

Arkansas was never in the pedigree of Oklahoma.

But they did take a big dip, Oklahoma will as well for similar reasons, though not as big a one as I stated

It's not going to happen just because you want it to.

Missouri won the east its first two years, TAMU has been competitive since day 1 in the SEC.

And it won’t not happen just because you don’t want it to

Given they have about fifty+ years of being a blueblood program, I'm going to go with inertia here.

Yeah, since the interim coach had to beat ULM so that they could become bowl eligible.

Like Arkansas, they’re geographically isolated now relative to their peers and they built that legacy on the back of weak conference and non conference schedules. That goes away too. Why do you think they had such a poor record in BCS games? And now are winless in the playoff?

It's 2021, geography is irrelevant. Recruiting is national.

Oklahoma is one of the most successful programs in CFB history. Now - simply because they join the SEC they're going to fall apart? Are you reading what you're actually writing?

Hilariously wrong

I didn’t say fall apart, but the cracks that have been there for a long time are going to be exposed. Again go look at their record in BCS and playoff games.

They haven’t been as good as advertised for decades, they’ve just racked up a lot of wins in a weak conference to win 10 games and make people like you think they’re better than they really are.

Jimbo (with a natty) to TAM (who has won nothing) is far bigger than Riley (who has won nothing) to LSU (3 nattys since 2003).
