you would say that, seeing as how you don't want them to come after ole Nick.
But, even though I never thought about him, Johnson might make a good fit at ND.

Notre Dame isn't going to win any NC's in the foreseeable future no matter who is the coach, imo.
i wouldn't bet the house on that. they are desperate. as a private school, they do not reveal their entrance requirements for athletes. i bet the next coach gets some "exemptions".

However, their admission requirements almost make their talent pool equal to the service academies.
proof? notre dame has a much larger talent pool than the service academies. and they can enlarge it any damn time they want to and no one will even know it. they are a private school and do not publish their entrance requirements for athletes. we all assume they are MUCH HIGHER than SEC requirements, but they may not be and they probably have a number of exemptions. their recruiting has been pretty solid; i think weiss was a fish out of water as a head coach (albeit a huge fish).

A whale is a mammal, not a fish.

The last time we got a GA Tech guy - well lets just say that it did not work out very well.

ND would never go after BAMAs coach in my opinion. It would be like us going after Auburns coach, it would just never happen. They would never admit that they need what we have in order to win.

Doesn't mean that either will go and not trying to flame fellow SEC opponents Uof F or Alabama, but Starkvilletigerfan, I think you are spot on , ND cannot continue to gamble on up and coming coaches, I believe they have the bucks and the Brinks truck will back up to the loser of the Sec Championship game. If its all about money and I dont care what people say, everyone and I do mean everyone has their price and if its money, then one would worry because no doubt that Meyer and Saban are truly to of the best coaches in the NCAA.

Why would an option coach work at nd? Last time I checked the offense I notre dame was scoring 40 pts a game while the defense gave up 45. Seems to me they are very good in a west coast type offense. Watch the games please. It ain't offense it is defense

I think ND should go after Ferenz(sp?) Iowa's coach. Good fit and a great underrated coach IMO. Could be a building block for along time.

Brian Kelley reach new contrac??
From Football Scoop: Contract Ext. for Brian Kelley.
Also supposedly met with Tuberville.
sources tell us that Tuberville has his staff in place and will get back in coaching if the right job is their for the taking.

My point is the two top coaches are playing each other for a NC 4 weeks or so from now....6 of one-half a dozen of another...the loser can be in South Bend 2 days later with his millions getting started on recruiting. They can't wait for the winner nor is there a need to!!! Now with that being said-I do believe Saban would be the better fit at ND.because he is a defensive minded coach-but what the hell-Florida has had some killer defenses as well!!

Realistically, the only way I see Saban leaving Alabama this year is if he wins the NC game. The money vs his ego would prevent him from leaving at this point in his career at Bama.
I might be wrong, since I have been once before when I thought I had made a mistake.
