Watching airplanes
A private plane, a Cessna Citation CJ3 (twin-jet), left Lincoln Municipal Airport at 1:14 Sunday afternoon.
It's supposed to arrive in Baton Rouge at 3:19.
It is exactly what it looks like. A source close to LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini told the Journal Star Sunday afternoon that the coach is set to interview with NU officials for the Nebraska head coaching job.
It is unclear when and where the interview will take place.
The plane is owned by Norfolk Iron and Metal, a company out of Nebraska.
Dick Robinson, president of Norfolk Iron and Metal, declined comment Sunday as to why the plane was headed to Baton Rouge.
"We have a policy that we don't reveal that type of information," said Robinson, who in 2006, was presented with the Clarence Swanson Memorial Award.
The award honors a person "for outstanding contributions to the University of Nebraska and the Husker athletic department."
When told of the flight by the Journal Star, LSU athletic director Skip Bertman said: "Are you kidding me?"
Bertman said nobody has contacted him regarding Pelini, considered a lead candidate for the Husker head coaching job.
"I don't think Tom Osborne would do it any other way," Bertman said.
However, he added, "It's probably not absolutely, positively mandatory for an assistant. I don't suppose he felt he had to contact me, I guess."
This comes a day after three sources told the Journal Star a private search firm had contacted Pelini about the Husker job.

All this going on today would be so much cooler if we didn't have a major game in a few days.

He should've been fired Trump style after not blitzing on 4th and 10 in OT..

I can't imagine BP takes a day of preparation off to go to Atlanta for an interview unless he is sure he is leaving LSU. Can you imagine the backlash from Tiger fans if we play a subpar defensive game in SECCG knowing he was out interviewing. Maybe he is going on behalf of Skip and Les to talk to Peach Bowl officials in case we lose.

Whenever thinking about whether or not we deserved to win the game or not, I think about this play. How dissapointing.

If he knows to call a blitz on 4th and 10 when the worst the team could do is tie you then yes he is already ahead of the game...

I think they should scramble some jets and shoot that fricking plane down. That is what we will do at BAMA if someone comes to talk to Saban.

He def. interviewed. A buddy called earlier and his inlaws live in Lakes at Highland and saw him getting out of his car in a suit this evening with another guy in a suit. Flame away.
