About Lane agreeing to come to LSU and stringing all this out, there’s no way he stays at OM, IMHO. That would legitimately be career suicide as no one would take him seriously in the future. He’s not dumb, he knows how low the ceiling is at OM, and I don’t think he locks himself in there.

ETA: I could be completely wrong

He saves us money finishing the regular season per his contract.

I think it is more of a difficult thing because I do think he has matured and I do believe he feels some type of way about leaving. That being said, I think you are spot on. He knows the ceiling is low and knows if he wants to challenge Saban's legacy, LSU is the only place he can.

I don’t think this coaching cycle has any relevance to future coaching cycles at all.

You’ll have some LSU fans on here still panicking about him staying Ole Miss even after the news breaks and says Kiffin officially accepts and signs contract with LSU.

Yep. And sometime around September a bunch of people will be screaming for him to be fired.

Your logic is sound but you are definitely wrong.

Teams would be wary but ultimately they would hire him. And it’s unlikely that the next time would be complicated from a timeline like this one is.

True. Regardless of the outcome, hopefully this debacle forces them to fix the broken schedule of CFB.

It seems like nothing that happens to Kiffin or what he has done has changed people's interest in him:

After this was said when the Raiders fired him - “Davis fired Kiffin over the telephone. At the televised news conference announcing the firing, Davis called Kiffin "a flat-out liar" and said he was guilty of "bringing disgrace to the organization."

Then he bailed on Tennessee, was fired from USC, moved on from Florida Atlantic, and now he’s publicly flirting with other schools while Ole Piss is on a potential playoff run. And somehow, people are still interested in him. Heck, Ole Piss is trying to keep him while he’s flirting with other schools.

Y’all are delusional. He’s getting ready to host a playoff game. Where’s LSU? Ole Miss has been the better program for the last 4 years. He is surpassing LSU, at Ole Miss. LSU isn’t what you all think it is.

Spot on.
What does he want his legacy to be.

Check out that 9 game SEC schedule Ole Miss will be playing against in the future. They've been avoiding alot of big matchups in the SEC. Beginning next year, that will not be the case at Ole Miss. Kiffin knows what is on the horizon, at Ole Miss he will be relegated back to the 8-9 win seasons.
