Not true. He milked us again. It was like an AME church when everyone stands in line to come up front and drops money in the plate.

So we got better organized and got a clearer commitment on the coming years. We were exposed for not have an answer to of the latest trends in the NIL world. It’s an arms race.

Ole Miss does not have a strong recruiting ground for high school talent. This means they have to get more from the transfer portal, which means they can’t miss, because if they do, they can’t supplement with an actual high. Cool recruiting ground.

Not true... Mississippi isn't Alaska - there's definitely a decent amount of talent. Sure it's a smaller pool than LA, AL, etc. but per capita the talent is pretty solid overall.

In this current model Lane doesn't care that much about HS recruiting because he doesn't really play true freshman anyway, plus he doesn't want to spend his dollars in HS players just to have them transfer out a year later for zero return. That's at least his process in this version of CFB - things may change who knows.

I acknowledge it's easier to recruit in LA compared to MS but the point remains.

Ole Miss literally just got an on-field sponsor (Aflac) - funny enough, Lane never acknowledged it or has given OM any public credit for landing that deal.

If he's trying to press more Ole Miss hands all he has to do is make the damn playoffs and get a home game in Oxford, the coffers will be stacked if he accomplishes that.

Well no shite it's easier because of obvious reasons, but the idea "there is no HS talent in MS" idea is wrong.

There are more 4+ recruits in MS (15) this year compared to LA (12) according to 247, and LA is 35% larger population.

That logo is budget dust. He wanted a top 3 type setup.

You laugh but your school keeps hiring our front office people to try and replicate what we’re doing.

Surely he's smart enough to understand sometimes you need to a bridge deal before you get a bigger contract.... or he's just being willfully ignorant or ungrateful

Ah. So you hired him purely because he was an LSU guy and it had absolutely nothing to do with performance. No wonder LSU is so fricked up.

From what I’ve heard (prior to this whole ordeal) a lot of the old money folks are fed up with the money grab and have had enough. There has been a good bit of new money injected into the program but only time will tell if the new money is sustainable if the old money dries up.

I don’t think he was involved and probably is unconcerned. He is on the spectrum after all.
