It's just fundamentally not sound of why saban and bama hasn't wrapped up a new deal if saban was interested in money and staying.

It's because Texas hasn't made an official offer for Alabama to counter.

I actually have to wonder how much of his own (not inconsiderable; I've heard he's worth north of a billion) wealth Battle would be willing to kick in to the pot in order to avoid becoming the AD who let Saban slip away...

This is actually only about a day old narrative too. Lots a shite going on when in reality no one knows shite.

not believing any of that, you don't need formal offers to present to bama for them to take it seriously. 99% of negotiating is done without formal offers.

This whole clusterfrick is an embarrassment for the Austin Cows. I'm growing bored with it now.

Then I have failed miserably.

It's pretty clear that Saban has an excellent relationship with the Alabama administration. I don't think there are any sort of hard negotiations going on. They both know he's the best and will handle it accordingly.

While I hope that this is true, I know that Mal's passing earlier in the year, and Battle's subsequent rise to AD, may have put a damper on Saban's relationship with the administration.

If Coach Moore were still there, I'd feel a whole lot better about this, for sure.

In the meantime, though, I have to put my trust in Battle's business acumen.

Are you talking about the rumors that he and Battle don't get along? Because I haven't seen anything concrete to those claims.
