You can have all the opportunity in the world but if you don’t want to work for the head guy in charge, there is no amount of will, promises or money that will change that.

I think that’s going to be the biggest, toughest issue in finding “the best” people.

How do you know if you want to work with someone, if you barely know that person much less worked for that person before?

Stupid thread

I’m pretty positive that Orgeron has an established reputation in the coaching circles to draw from.

The fact that you had to point that out says a lot about how fricking dumb some people on this website are the guy has coached at top 5 programs for the past 20-30 years. Every single relevant coach in the country has inside info on what Orgeron is like behind closed doors

Doubtful. People want opportunity more than anything. LSU provides that. People will deal with a year or two of whatever to get that opportunity

Really dude? You can't see video of someone who can barely speak English and conclude: probably don't want to work for an idiot?

Saban isn’t easy to work for, so it’s got to be more than not liking Coach O to keep anyone from LSU. Now maybe they don’t like his lack of knowledge, but it’s not really about liking the person. You have to feel you can win with him.

I was thinking this yesterday for a different reason that people on here are musing. We will find it difficult to pry a Freeman type guy out if CEO is perceived to be in the hot seat and could be out in a year and then you are out in the streets looking for a job.

This is where we reap what we sow in all the negativity that is espoused about the coach, the university leadership, and the program in general.

Well, there is enough money as that was used to keep Aranda and eventually pry Pelini from a HC position. Will it be used this time is very much in question? We’ll know soon enough when the hires/contracts are announced.

Wanting to work for O can also be a question of learning the craft. Although O has been in coaching for nearly 40 years, if I’m an up and comer looking to coordinate I’m not sure I’ll get the game planning education I could get elsewhere. Of Os hires only Brady left for a bigger job. So far 4 more of his hires from this season have been asked not to return. It’s a real failure.
