In my brief visit over there, the Aggies didn't seem to be handling it well. Calling it the worst guy we could get, a terrible fit, blah blah.
They're really trying to convince themselves we made a mistake since they sucked against Les and Ed, and we now have a competent head coach.

Honestly. I wasn’t thrilled about the thought of this hire because honestly, I have never paid that much attention to ND. But after actually looking at his record and everything about him, he’s every bit as good if not better of a hire than Riley and I was fine with him if he had been hired.
Neither were my first choice but I can see him being successful here just like I could see Riley being successful here.

Many were in love with the splashiness of Riley, and didn't want to think beyond that. Others didn't believe Kelly would ever leave ND. Some have been hung up on age or championships.
I think most have now realized this was a gargantuan hire, when they sit back and consider his overall resume. Successful coaches don't leave ND voluntarily.

Read the responses.The majority didn't mention the salary issue and the down votes had little to do with it.
