Think about what he did at Oregon with that talent and then imagine what he could do with LSU's wealth of skilled players. He has not shown to be a good NFL coach but he's a heck of a college coach.

I think chip is convinced he's an NFL coach despite the evidence to the contrary

Chip would be the very first call I make.

But he's going to get at least 1 more year in SF.

Possibly 2 if he drafts a QB high.

This. He seems dead set on proving everyone wrong that his system can work in the NFL. Fortunately, if we hire Orgeron, we will likely be looking for a new coach around the time he realizes that the NFL is not for him.

He has already said he isn't leaving the NFL and he hates recruiting.

He'd probably kill it for a couple of years with the talent he inherited, but his personality is not right for long-term recruiting in the south. But he's not a realistic candidate anyway.

I think his system recruits itself. We'd have skilled players begging to play in his system. The rest of the SEC would crap themselves if we got Kelly, Bama included!

One of LSU's best teams rang up 40+ points on one of his best teams. AU beat another good Duck's team for the NC. And he's been blunt about his feelings re recruiting. As noted here, he's said several times he detested it and the mandatory booster arse kissing he had to do in college. He just likes to coach football & has no outside life.

kelly would be a disaster, CFB has changed dramatically since he left, dozens of teams now run what he did, its not the weird system that no one is used to anymore.
