Yet they’re keeping him to get a CFP banner. That playoff game is going to be rough for OM.

100% dreaded the press conference. He knew it was gonna be an uncomfortable and annoying one.

I wonder if LSU will lock him in to not quit in the middle of a season.

I remember when Petrino was lambasted for that.

Standards continue to rot. LSU has none.

They are not going to make him the highest paid coach in football while also allowing him to miss the window and recruiting immediately. That would basically just be giving up for a year with this current roster

100% he is and as a competitor, how could you not fight to be with your team in the playoffs?

Anyone who thinks LSU isn’t going to wait on that, if Ole Miss allows it, is an absolute fool (and hasn’t been listening)…our staff can recruit and LK can help with his own evaluations that he compiles during the year

I’ll wait as long as we need to in order to secure the best coach on the market

If he wants to come to LSU he would be sabotaging his future roster by waiting until after the musical chairs stopped.

If we had him legally locked down as the coach, why would we be opposed to him coaching the playoffs? Frank can carry the water to the recruits and get CLK on the phone if need be. I don’t get why that would be problematic.

Don't understand this coaching through the playoffs talk. That's something some mid-major school would allow, not an SEC team. Don't see their fans standing for it.

I thought he couldn’t officially sign a contract with LSU without resigning from Ole Miss at the same time?

I think he probably wants that and hates how this is going down, but in the end, the lawyers will prevail.

Ironically the best chance for Ole Miss to retain him is to do nothing and letting him ride it out
The uncertainty would crush next year’s recruiting class. What recruits or transfer portal players are going to sign with Ole Miss not knowing who their head coach will be next year?

My ole miss connection told me that kiffin 100% wants to coach through the playoffs. Questions is will he be allowed to.

Not your decision. Ole Miss isn't going to let him coach the playoffs.

They will withdraw the offer. LSU needs to get a coach and staff in place asap. They need to keep the recruiting class together. If Kiffin says he’s coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs, he might as well stay period.

I’m pretty sure that if it were my decision, I would not be posting on TD.

He will immediately start calling LSU commits as soon as he can .LK will know who his staff will be and will tell the recruits and have the staff call them.LK has experience at this and they shouldn’t lose to many recruits and might gain some.He will also work with Justin Thomas and get their priorities in order for the portal. Some of you are just sky is falling addicted,LK or whoever is named will have a plan moving forward they have no choice.

The schedule is unfair for the coaches and players. Needs to be rectified.

But if LSU thinks he’s the long-term solution, I think you let him coach the playoffs and deal with being behind this offseason.

2026 isn’t going to be a championship year anyway, no matter the coach.
