You have a source? Why are you so confident? Is Venables coming too?

Going to bump this thread up. I rewatched Dabo's press conference and he deflected all the questions about the LSU job. He never answered anything directly.

More likely than we think? It would be a swing at the fences candidate.

This can’t be true. We have experts on this board who say Dabo is no different than Orgeron.

Won’t be Dabo.
He doesn’t know enough about the staff to let coaches go or stay already

Dabo's buyout is nearly 50 million. Not even deep pocket LSU boosters are going to pay that for a dude who is just a Whole Foods version of Ed Orgeron.

I think he is waiting for Saban to leave to go after Alabama job.

When will you people learn?

quote:

Dabo Swinney has a buyout of a whopping $47.5 million if he were fired

LEARN PEOPLE, LEARN.

quote:

Should Swinney leave for a job besides Alabama, the buyout would be $4 million through 2020, $3 million through 2022, $2 million through 2025 and $1 million through 2027. Should he leave for Alabama, he’d owe an ADDITIONAL $2 million through 2020, $1.5 million through 2022, $1 million through 2025 and $500,000 through 2027.

His buyout right now would be 3 milli.

Most elite coaches are around the 3-4 milli buyout I believe. Those higher buyout numbers are only if they are fired.

they have had no competition in the ACC and even then they've consistently lost a game almost every year that they weren't supposed to. That won't work in the SEC West.

This is a silly point. They made the CFP 6 years in a row, and slayed Bama twice in the NCG.

In 3 of those seasons they went undefeated in conference, and last year they only lost to ND in OT without Lawrence, then beat the hell out of the Irish when it mattered.

By your standard, Saban loses games he shouldn't far more consistently, given his talent advantage, and no one is good enough for LSU.
