I hope people don’t melt if this is just one big coverup for Lincoln to get a raise

I’ve seen this with Miles, Saban, Tom Herman, Dave Aranda (DC) and last year with the DC hire.
Agents use coaching vacancies to get ridiculously high raises at their respective schools. The rumors create a visceral reaction from both the school attempting a hire and the head football coach’s fan base.
It is fun. But I think at the end of the day, LSU is finally playing with house money. Woodward is going to get a great HC. I hope no one thinks this coaching search will be a failure if we lose out on Riley. Just recently he was a OC at ECU..
I think people should expect it is one of these four:
Riley
Aranda
Campbell
Napier
Any of these four would be a solid hire

It's either Riley or Plan B
Who cares if people get excited?

Not going to allow myself to believe it until press conference.

Plan B only works on your pregnancy. You would most likely need a gun or pills or something.

Better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all

This stuff with Lincoln Riley isn't
a smokescreen.
It is the real deal. I don't know that we will sign him but it definitely is no smokescreen.

There will always be a melt no matter what. The guys insisting that Riley won't come here will melt if he dies. It's the nature of the board.

The fact that Riley is possible is a good thing. SW is going all out. You don't make shots you don't take.

Then OU has to spend several million dollars more than they would have, and on top of the huge Big 12 exit fee.
They’ll eventually make it up with the new SEC money, but it never hurts to put a financial hit on a future rival as they enter the conference.
It also raises questions about his loyalty and future amongst the Sooner faithful.
