I have heard that O was selected because the powers that run LSU can handle him. By that I mean he will put their wants ahead of the teams needs, as in players, coaches, waterboys, etc.
the "Good Ole" boy network is firmly entrenched in every school, but Saban & Miles did not play their games with them.
I may be wrong, but it helps me understand why he was hired to begin with.

That's the way it was told to me.
Basically, "Let's take Troy coming to town as an opportunity to cut back on the penalties and work on the straight ahead run game and the route tree."
True we shouldn't need the window dressing to beat Troy. But by the same token Troy would have been a good opportunity to work on the motion and eliminate the mental mistakes. Eventually they did eliminate the penalties by simply getting better at the motion and shifting.

N511TA flew from Lafayette to New Orleans yesterday arriving around 1pm. Flew back at 8 last night. A King Air but you don't need a jet to get from Lafayette to NOLA.

I dont have clue which is right or not...but guys like placebeaux will pick and choose which sauce is legit based solely on whether they like the info or not. Everyone else is a dumb arse.

I don’t wear a tinfoil hat BUT this post right here makes a frick ton of sense due to seeing and knowing how the “good ol’ boy politics” in Louisiana works.

There’s really no reason to rush the hire, since the recruiting class is essentially wrapped up offensively. Sark got the Falcons to the playoffs, and I don’t see them going for a 3rd OC in 3 years. If it’s Lombardi, you can get him hired and just come out and say he will join you when the Saints are done in the playoffs.

They flew back a little after 8:20pm from NOLA. A close friend of mine was on the plane. Went to the game with Jake Delhomme as well as the LSU donor.
