Your dumb arse was saying 1.75. Thats doesn’t get a guy to drop an NFL dream.

I said 1.75 was the low end. And in Oct/Nov.

And that 'NFL Dream' is a fairy tale. Brady had walked away from a Blue Chip NFL franchise less than a year before... for cash - cold hard cash.

Get real.

He was a low level assistant and we offered him a chance to put together an offense.

College or NFL you take that job.

If he didn’t want to be in the NFL why would that be in his contract at all?

Because he wanted it.

In January he wanted it. Rhule told him he would give him the OCjob. The time to strike the deal was October.

He wanted it.

Period. If he had an OC a job he wouldn’t have even done an extension or shite would have leveraged it for more money.

You’re a clown.

Ok so he signs a deal in October. He’s still leaving with Rhule to the NFL. You do realize that contracts are bought off all the time right? I mean considering we just fired 2 guys under contract I would think you would understand that.

Wrong.

That's what big buyouts are for.

Of course Brady wouldn't have signed on to a big buyout number in January. But he would have in October. Rhule didn't sign his HC deal until January.

And coaches generally don’t agree to them for non-lateral moves.

In October we were supposed to pay him 3 mill?

For the sake of argument, lets assume your premise that we could have indeed locked him up in October.

When would these discussions have taken place? Midweek before the Auburn game? The bye week before Bama? Orgeron and the entire AD department would look like clowns initiating contract negotiations with a twenty something coach with 6 games of total college experience under his belt during preparations for the biggest game in recent program history.

Hindsight is just that.
