We gotta get their S&C coach and their OLine coach for sure. Those would be massive upgrades
Those are the two guys we DON'T want.

Many have been pointing to some distinctive warning signs with their S&C program and at the same time many of their OLmen have regressed.

I'll put it this way, they have been getting out physicaled in the trenches, both, rank in the 100's in sacks allowed (102 vs. our 115), and rank in the 70's in the "power success rate" OL stat.

In Sept & Oct, this year, they were using words such as "disaster" to describe their OL. Even though it wasn't/isn't quite that bad. But it ain't good.

Now Quinn has been around a long time. And he's put together some good OLs. But the regression and the fact that he has been around so long together is concerning.

Not crazy about Rees running the offense.

I think the guy we want is the one before Quinn who da Bears hired. He's available now.
If Davis has to go he's who I'd want but Coach is gonna do what Coach is gonna do and I'll be good with whatever transpires.
Somebody else could comment on the physicality issue on the line. Maybe guys are younger than opponents so not as mature, maybe they've changed positions or haven't adapted to weight training--I have no idea. But right about now it's all gonna sound like excuses--not reasons--to me.
Fortunately, we now have a HC that knows how to enforce personal responsibility and blow excuses out of the water.

Hiestand. Not coaching right now, living in S Bend. (discussion about him in another thread)

Don't know the details, just some of the complaints in general myself but here's a link to an article on uhnd.com. As
for experience, they are starting (L to R, as of Stanford): Fr, Jr, Sr, Super-Sr, Super-Sr.

One of those super seniors we recruited very hard in Cain Madden. We also recruited his back up very hard, Rocco Spindler.

All in all they have been very comparable to us this year with a bunch of experience but sub-par performance (they are better than our OL). The difference being they have recruited better.

The Oline Coach is a must. They have produced the most talent at oline than I’ve seen in a long time. They fukin maul people on the ground. I’d love the OC (doubtful) and oline and dline coaches. The rest i don’t care.

Yeah, Spindler was one of the guys I mentioned somewhere else that could come in here and compete/get PT right away on the inner line.
Obviously, a freshman starter at tackle for ND this year could play Day 1 for us.
There were 2 other highly rated frosh tackles I recall from recruiting rankings. One was pushing for playing time and got injured.
Might be a pipe dream but those guys would be a haul.
We need a center in a yuuudge way!
Only concern I'd have with HH is recruiting energy but I'm liking the idea of moving Quinn to tight end Coach to fit HH or retain BD. Would hate to see BD go. He did a lot with a little talent wise and the scheme goal post kept jumping around.

Very happy. I hope that he creates a more disciplined, team culture than his predecessor. I am confident that he will.
