According to Scone-

-Analysts cant make in-home recruiting visits. Only the 10 on-field coaches can do that
-Frank wants an on field role and why would you want him as analyst if he cant help in-home recruiting anyway
-Kevin Smith is likely coming over from Ole Miss as RB coach after their playoff run

Why not move Smith to an analyst and give Frank the RB coach on-field title?

I dont know how Smith is as a recruiter but I'd prefer Frank's Nola connections and Analysts can now coach on-field, just cant recruit

Also, if we can't make room for Frank do you see him going somewhere else in the SEC? Would be pretty grimey of Frank and I wouldn't wanna give another SEC school that recruiting edge.

These NCAA rules are retarded. If youre paid by the school you should be able to recruit whether that's on the phone or in home.

Probably follows Coach O to Florida. Hopefully neither end up there.

He will take the best job available, which would likely be in the SEC. And probably Ole Miss, because they are desperate for a "win" over LSU at this point.

But too much is made out of the recruiting stuff. Would Wilson pull a kid or two from new Orleans every once in a while? I'm sure. But if LSU is winning consistently, and Wilson isn't, those kids will come to LSU with or without Frank Wilson.

If we can keep him, that would be great. But we don't need to bend over backwards for Frank Wilson.

We don’t need to bend over backwards to keep a bad on field coach.

He can either take whatever is offered or find an on field job elsewhere

If his only strength is cruiting in an era that doesn’t value it as much then…

Because Kevin Smith is the better COACH.

Frank can swallow his pride and be an off the field member of the LSU staff if he loves LSU so much.

Idk, think I’d rather a RB coach that can coach RBs.

And probably Ole Miss,

Yeah that would suck. I think he's probably more valuable to our SEC rivals than us, giving them an in to the Louisiana recruiting scene. Where if we just find room for him we would essentially be playing keep away from those SEC rivals.

Well like i mentioned, analysts can now coach on field. We'd still having Smuth coaching our RBs just under the "analyst" title.

the days of hiring a shite position coach ONLY because he can recruit are long gone.

we can have an army of recruiters, etc now OFF the field.

we need 10 stud On TF coaches who can teach and develop and make adjustments in-game.

frank is not that and looks like he will be replaced. he can either join the recruiting staff OFF field or hit the road.

No doubt he will be at Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas or A&M next year if he’s not at LSU.

How about let coach Kiffin decide

I don’t see why so many people are worried about Frank Wilson. I get it, the local high school coaches know him and he’s done right dealing with the kids and parents. However, we have a coach that some consider to be the brightest or one of the brightest offensive minds in college football. Whoever Lane Kiffin wants on his coaching staff I’m all for it even if it means we lose a few coaches I actually like. In Kiffin I trust.

I completely "Trust Lane" to handle it.. just throwing it out there for discussion. I was simply proposing a way to get the best of both worlds.. Smith's on field coaching as an analyst while retaining Frank's recruiting prowess and connections, and keeping him away from our conference foes.

If they can work it out where Frank stays in some capacity I’m good with that. I want the best X and O developmental coaches we can get, and if Kiffin feels that’s not Frank then it is what it is. I’m not worried about Frank going to a rival school in an era where you buy players. If we win like the two teams I’m watching in this SEC championship the instate recruiting will take care of itself.

Explain why one of the best on the field running back coaches, Kevin Smith, in the country will take a demotion to an analyst?
