that had to be a nightmare on the Flats last weekend. Blow a 20-0 lead to your biggest rival who was all beat up.
Tech under his tutelage has some of the softest, most mentally fragile teams you'll see in a major conference.
Georgia Tech is a tough job, but this guy just seems to have hit a wall.

He shouldn't be safe, but hes got a monster buyout so hes safe.

It was cool to watch LSU completely shut down that arrogant SOBs offense even on a down year.

That BCS bowl appearance might still buy him a little more time.

HE has an $8M bouyout...he is safe for 2 more years.
The buyout goes down 2 M each year.
Tech is still paying PAul Hewitts buyout.

He was disappointed they didn't have a more worthwhile opponent. What an idiot.

Umm they hired a Navy guy to run a Navy offense so they could win 6 games a year. He's doing his job. He's not on the hot seat.

Are you serious ?? I thought Tech men were supposed to be all brainy.
Well, with that buyout Tech will keep turning into jelly. Forget it.

Not sure Tech could do better then him honestly.

Mike Leach or a spread would be better. But I am happy he will be there a few more years.

You think Leach would take a job where the academic administration is handcuffing the athletic administration?

Tech has some real problems there. They've gotten everything they can out of his gimmicky offense. And they will probably continue to win 6-8 wins per year there simply because some teams freak when they play against a triple option team (Hi Florida!
But they will rarely recruit superstar players because no one in the NFL runs that offense. So even if you are a RB that runs up gaudy numbers in tech's offense, you don't know how to pass block or catch a pass. You have no idea how the spread or a pro style offense works. So it makes it almost impossible to recruit the Gurleys and Yeldons of the world who have visions of playing in the NFL. Same with WR, same with QB, and even their OL block differently (cut blocks) than other Div. I and NFL teams.
And on defense? You practice every day against an offense no one else in Div. I or the NFL runs. So you are pretty much screwed whenever you play, well, anyone else.
So when PJ leaves, he will leave a bunch of lesser talented folk that can run the triple option like freaks, but that's it. Try to fit those midgets into a pro set and they will go 1-10.
Can't wait, by the way.

All these buyouts have gotten ridiculous.
Holgorsen at WVU has an $11.3 mil buyout. Clearly he deserves to be fired but Oliver Luck couldn't possibly hire a halfway decent corch when he has to pay $11.3 mil to the old corch.
Ole Miss was paying three, yes three football corches at the same time in Nutt's last year because of buyouts. Then Nutt got paid a damn fortune for running them into the ground.
I would only offer that kind of a buyout to 1 maybe 2 corches. Its just not worth it.
