Oh he was forced out. The Bammers didn't like Curry at all. If every there was someone who "didn't fit", it was Curry and the Bammers. Oil and Vinegar.

As has been noted, there's lot of movement...upwards.
It's the moves you can argue that are at best lateral moves, much less downgrades that I think you should focus a little more on.
Since that's my assertion, I'll provide the ammo, SEC programs, since the 12 team league...adding Mizzou and A&M for good measure.
Bama's moves, Saban to Bama (because any college HC job is a downgrade from the NFL), Curry and Fran from Bama, downgrades.
Ole Miss. Tubs to Auburn, upgrade.
Vanderbilt. Dinardo to LSU, upgrade
Kentucky. Morris to Baylor. At the time, I would call that a downgrade. Not today.
Tennessee. Dooley from La Tech, upgrade. Kiffin to Southern Cal, upgrade...but a good thing for the Vols looking back.
Then there's the curious case of Johnny Majors. Going to Pitt was a downgrade, but getting forced out after heart surgery?
