someone else say they didn't like Krag? If so, Don't base your opinions on that and then come on here a parrot what some stranger said.

I know the majority of you haven't looked at his past and are only coming to these conclusions based on what they've seen here or heard at the water cooler. If so, go do your research. These people you are basing your opinions on, have no clue either. In fact, they are repeating what they hear and see here.

Krag is a great coach, who struggled at UL. This struggle could arguably be because he overtook a program headed for the shitter anyways. Maybe not, but still look at his past record at Tulsa and everything prior. He may not be a HC, but he damn sure knows how to be an OC.

IF, adn I say IF, Krag is hired. Get behind him and give him his fair shot at LSU's OC job.

Meh.

His record at ATM is not impressive either.

Yeah...he did pretty good at Tulsa.

Crowton did pretty good at LA Tech.

Whatever happens, I will take Kragthorpe over Sanford. That guy is downright awful.

I don't like the offensive rankings he had and his lack of commitment to his job because of personal shite

It's just a "meh" hire. Not dismaying, but nothing exciting about it.

Seriously. He had to walk away from his job as WR coach at ATM because of his wife's problems. What happens when people start criticizing his performance at LSU, he is working long hours and on the road, away from home? Meanwhile, his wife is trying to adjust to new surroundings and runs out of zoloft?

I feel for the guy because of his family issues. I just hope his personal life is on a solid footing now.

I for one think he will be okay here. He is getting a bad rap because of an impossible situation at UL, and is obviously one of those guys that, if given the right situation, could be great.

His offenses at Tulsa, which isn't exactly getting the athletes Lsu gets, was ranked in the 20s and 30s most years. Seems pretty good to me. The guy seems like a good offensive mind and with the kids we have here, hopefully the sky is the limit.

he has had a good record at a couple of different places, but the thing that worries me is that his last job tanked.

i know you can't judge a guy for having one blemish on his record but it's a pretty big blemish. from wikipedia:

quote:

Although Louisville started the 2007 season as #10 in the AP Poll and returned the majority of the 2007 Orange Bowl champion team, including a Heisman Trophy candidate (QB Brian Brohm), the Cards finished the season a disappointing 6–6, including a loss to Syracuse in which the Cardinals were 37 point favorites. Nine consecutive winnings seasons and bowl games came to an end under the direction of Kragthrope in year one of his coaching tenure at Louisville with a team that had enough talent to see five of its players taken in the NFL Draft.

i know head coaching is a different animal but it still makes me nervous to read this. that being said, i'm no expert on the subject, and if Miles says it's a good hire, i say

2003 Tulsa ranked #51

2004 Tulsa ranked #73

2005 Tulsa ranked #39

2006 Tulsa ranked #24

Tulsa suddenly shot up to No.1 the year after Kragthorpe left when Gus Malzahn became OC. He's the present OC at Auburn.

And...

2007 Louisville HC #6
2008 Louisville HC #45
2009 Louisville HC #91

Krags officially took over the playcalling duties at Louisville for the 2009 season.

No. I don't like him because he did the bat and mousetrap thing which means:

1. He's a poseur, or

2. He crazy

I'm not going to write off the program, or the offense for that matter, if he's hired. I just don't think it is a good fit. Nobody is paying me nearly $4 million to run the LSU football program, though.

Krags resume is spotty at best. I offer maximum leeway for the Louisville situation - maybe Petrino $hit the bed so bad that what happened after is not Krags' fault at all. He did okay at Tulsa.

I would prefer several of the other candidates.
