How long before we find out about Coach O ?

When will we hear that it is or not Coach O? I think the sooner the better. Now that the Saints season is over I would think it won't take long right? I think belowpar said he thought it was Chavis and Coach O so he is 50% correct. I hope it ends up being 100% correct.

some are saying the saints offered him but it was without a raise. if that's true imo LSU can/will get him.

I'm torn on the Orgeron issue. He's apparently pretty effective as a coach and a recruiter. But he's also apparently a loose cannon and, having been a head coach himself, it's unclear how he will behave working under a DC who has never been one and a Head Coach with whom he has a history of antagonism.

I think that Cash is of the opinion that we should know by the end of this week. I tend to agree, as the Saints season (as you pointed out) is over, LSU's season will be over, and the final recruiting clock will be running.
Also, if O is going to uproot the family to go to Tennessee, every moment delayed is wasted (though he may go ahead and leave the family behind until the end of the school year.) One of the huge push-pull factors will be the kids. If he moves the family to Knoxville, it will be the third school in three years for the kids. That's worse than the dadgum regular army. That's worse than Saban.
Just sayin'.

Word is that Chavis wants to bring his DL coach.

Am I missing something?
Sorry for the ambiguity. I meant "working for a DC who has never been a Head Coach" (Orgeron having been a head coach).

He should since he is reponsible for the overall success of the defense. We owe this to the DC to have his guy with him. I don't like the Coach O situation anymore.

He better not. He can go back to Tennessee if he wants to do that.

I am so thrilled that players will actually be in the right postion for a change. A new dline coach would be gravy/

IMO Haley wouldn't be a downgrade from O. He might even be a better coach. I know O is a bad arse recruiter though.

I don't know the name of the DL coach but people I know in TN say he is good

I'd rank Haley and O about even. I wouldn't disagree with giving Haley the edge
as for chavis bringing in his UT staff....not no but hell no

And at the very least, LSU hasn't officially acknowledged the Chavis hire, and they're damn sure not going to make an announcement of a position coach before they announce the DC.
