To put it simple he just wants to call the shots

And he has no choice but to call his shots. Saban takes all of the glory. LSU he is going to do well, but it's the talent.
He inherits a terrible program, no pressure. Saban will help him with the transition because he didn't go to LSU, that's priceless. He can recruit.
Couple of 6 win seasons followed by an 8 win season he moves to something better.
It's not a Bama or LSU thing IMO

Can't compare Kiffin to typical coordinators bc Kiffin already has HC experience.

Being an OC for another year wasn't going to help kiffin get his foot in the door at a job Kiffin wanted. Clearly 3 years at Alabama wasn't enough for a number of AD's so he needed to go be a head coach at a small school to prove he has turned it around.

Kiffin has had to swallow his pride just to get a HC position. A big dose of humility to settle for FAU.

Starting with the Sonny Lubick era they've been to 14 bowl games since the mid 90's.
FAU football has been around for 15 years and is behind probably even FAMU in terms of fan interest in that state.

I'm sure this isn't what Kiffin would have preferred, as it can be easy to fall off the face of the Earth at a low-budget program like FAU. However, he has to prove he can run program like a grown up now. He probably expected to get a better gig following his success at Bama, but he comes with a lot of red flags and has to pay some dues before a bigger program will take a serious look at him.

I think they're seperated. She still comes to all his games and hangs out with him. Its like dating without the handcuffs

FAU and FIU made better coaching hires than LSU. CUSA > SEC

I mean, I wouldn't go to LSU to be an OC under Coach O.

You guys keep throwing the LSU name around as if that's enough to get anything we want. Consider the school president. Consider the AD. Consider the HC. What exactly is attractive about LSU right now?

If this pattern of regression holds, Kiffin's next wife will be Kaitlin Jenner

It's not an upgrade...it's a HC position. He probably should have tried harder on the UH job as it would have been an easier path to his next job. I'd take 3 years at UH over 3 years at FAU. Kiffin obviously thought that he had better options than he did. He needed discipline and an image overhaul and he was getting that at Bama under Saban. LSU wasn't even a lateral move as an OC, it was an opportunity to take full credit for his offense. Now he gets to take full credit for the FAU football program and I wish him well. Had he come to LSU, our fanbase would have been split on yet another hire and that BS is getting old.

Kiffin's wife is like LSU's OC.

Neither exists.

Somebody said the other day if you read Kiffin's career in reverse it makes sense. FAU>Bama OC>Tenn HC>USC HC>Oakland HC.

Maybe with a slight adjustment...
