Per Chad Balas from Wolverine.com
Spoke with Chad Balas he had some great insight into Loeffler as a recruiter. Also said Tom Brady wrote a handwritten letter to several people saying he was one of a few reasons he is as successful as he is today. Balas wrote a piece on Brady and spoke with Brady's father five years ago, and Brady's father echoed the same sentiments.

Everyone knows Tom Martinez is the guy Brady really credits with his development.
eta: FWIW, UF Fans sang the same tune before he got their and you can ask them what they think about his skills as merely a QB coach, much less all the way up to OC.

Well, since you know their relationship better and what Tom wrote isn't true, than either of the parties involved, I'll bow to your knowledge on all things coaching. Obviously you know enough to qualify is expert on QB coaching/offensive coordinating. That is why you are posting here.

Most i've heard from them is he is a good coach, decent recruiter, and the one time he was able to call plays for them, he did a great job. Most said that Brantley's progression wasn't what was desired, however don't know who is to blame for that one. Nice try though.

I think the results speak to themselves. You can google "Tom Martinez and Tom Brady" if you'd like to see what Brady has to say about him.
I'm just thinking of this logically. Loeffler was a GA at Michigan from 97-99, so those were Tom's final two years there. He is a mere 3 years older than Tom.
I don't think it's unfathomable that Tom would come out and speak glowingly about one of his peers, if they are buddies.

Loeffler's results speak for themselves. He's given credit for developing Brady (he wasn't his position coach, even), Brian Griese (classic underachiever), Chad Henne (again, classic underachiever), Drew Henson (is there a theme here?), and John Navarre (yippee).

They also raved, pre-season, about how he "totally reformed Tebow's mechanics!" Guess that superb coaching still hasn't taken hold is all.
Brantley was an abject disaster under him as well.

Without Loeffler, there would be no Tom Brady.
Chad Henne, Brian Griese and John Navarre just haven't been given a fair chance yet.

What i'm seeing is guys tha achieved enough in college to get drafted, yet once left college (Loeffler's coaching) they couldn't achieve the same success, except for Brady. I will gladly take a coach that is able to get his guys to have really good success at the college game. Getting Navarre drafted is nothing short of miraculous.
As for Tebow, he has proven that nobody can fix his throwing motion.

All I've said is this is, at the surface, a promising hire that could go either way with its success. You are the one that is saying it is a terrible hire, which just isn't true. When a bunch of coaches come out praising a guy for his work with their QB's and his work ethic, I am going to trust that over your "expert analysis of his coaching ability"

That's not really a contradiction. He's saying you shouldn't have hired him because Auburn could do better but he's glad you hired him because in his opinion he's not that good of a coach/OC/whatever else he may be implying.
