Yeah and Ole Miss could obviously garner more of both of those than LSU.

What makes you think we can't pay Wilson more than he's making at LSU?

The whole reason he'd be "OC" is to pay him more, dolt. He's not actually going to call plays or coordinate a damn thing. He'll just be there to coach halfbacks and recruit his arse off.

First off, I would never go coach anywhere that interviewed me for top gig and then gave it to someone else.

Second, offen coord at Ole Miss competing against the SEC west is not the best career path to a future head coach position. He would be better off staying at LSU and better coordinator jobs will come open down the line.

I'm not sure he actually interviewed for HC.

Just 2 years ago, Ole Miss had beaten the almighty Tigers of LSU 2 years straight. Quit acting like you go undefeated every year.

me neither.

The committee won't even release a number of how many candidates they interviewed. They claim it as "confidential."

Guys...I know Frank can recruit but we are talking about Ole Miss. This team is so bad they could get 10 Frank Wilson's and they still have no shot at winning the West. LSU is now THE ELITE school in America. When it comes to recruting WE WILL TAKE WHO WE WANT.

Mostly true but LSU loses out on some every year (but then of course y'all just say you pulled their offer at the last minute). I don't think Ole Miss would want Frank Wilson so they could go toe to toe in recruiting vs. LSU. They would want Frank Wilson to get the kids that they could get knowing where their real market is. He might could pick up a New Orleans' kid or two but Ole Miss, like State, knows where they can recruit.

No, we mind. That's why we will increase his pay and tell your coach to go frick himself.

Why in the frick would Wilson want to take a job that is actually a step down? Yes, Ole Piss is that bad and probably the worst team in the SEC right now.

He might use them for leverage in a well earned paycheck increase...about it.

1.) Mediocre staff put together at Ole Piss right now

2.) He'll be on his way out in two years thanks to that horrible situation over there

3.) How is OC a promotion when you have no talent to work with?

A move to Ole Piss might actually ruin his career opportunities because once they see how terrible his offense is(not his fault), who is going to want to hire him for another OC job? Much less a HC job?

LSU is Wilson's dream job. He'll stay here until something much better opens up or he gets a HC opportunity somewhere. I really like Wilson and was gladly wrong about him when we first got him. He has job security at LSU and he will definitely be getting constant benefits/bonuses with LSU's seasons. Will ever even get a bonus at Ole Piss based on how their season is going? LSU will at least be dominant next year too, so that is locked in for him.

And just for reference, you Ole Piss fans are some real dumbasses.

He took the job at Ole Miss because he was entering college ball. You realize he doesn't have that many years experience in college ball right? You got to get your foot in somewhere and Ole Miss was his starting point. Look where he is now, why in the hell would he make a move back to that mess over there?

"He didn't think it was a mess then, don't see why now"

What the frick? Are you idiots that delusional? Did you watch your season? I guess if my team was that terrible, I'd be delusional and ignore the games too.

Again, dolt, he would be OC in name only. He'd be the "OC" so we could pay him like an OC. Freeze would be calling the plays.

The only way we could lure Wilson away is by offering him a huge salary. The only way we can justify offering him a huge salary is by calling him our OC as opposed to some position coach/recruiting coordinator.

We're not saying he is going to. We're simply saying that, if the price is right, suggesting that he'd leave LSU isn't all that ridiculous.

How much is he making right now?
