How bad would it be for the program if Miles went to Arkansas?

I think it would be devastating...
Besides the difficulty of finding another elite coach, CLM would be in our backyard exploiting all of his Louisiana recruiting connections...
The word disaster comes to mind...

It wouldn't really be a big deal. LSU would be more than fine. "Louisiana recruiting connections" go to shite when you put on an Arky hat.

Bad??

I totally disagree. I like Miles but I think there are guys more than capable of jumping in and building off of what he and Saban have done.

It would be excellent for the program. The Arky program that is.

I've avoided the Miles to Arkansas threads, but I have to say - why in the frick would Miles leave LSU for Arkansas?

I know the question is just "what if", but some dumbasses seriously thought this was on the burner at some point.

I think worse than many believe. Everyone always talks about the Louisiana talent. You still have to have a hell of a recruiter and coach they wanna play for.
Be careful what you wish for

Will you people PLEASE stop!!!

It's not gonna happen!

If it does, LSU will have a line of quality candidates beating a path to its door.

His connections would take a hit. It's the LSU "brand" that sells, not Les!

Not bad at all ! The new and elite coach that would come in here will go undefeated and get us a crystal ball right away because with all of this talent an elite coach can't lose like Miles !

If he wouldn't leave LSU to coach the Maize and Blue then he's not leaving for Arkansas

LSU would be fine, but not so sure about Tigerdroppings. The meltdown would be legendary.

It would be terrible for the Arkansas program. We just dumped JLS. We don't need any more clown coaches.

So you would say 60% of the recruits we get are from coaches? Don't get me wrong but if a kid wants to play at a school, he just wants to play at that school. LSU the program will be fine. Does anyone remember after Lord Saban left how you felt.

It all depends on the replacement. No program is immune to bad program management. Ask Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, USC, Florida, Texas.....

And if he turns down the money again, will that be enough for all of the Miles haters to realize that he is really loyal to LSU? That says alot to me about this man as our coach. Careful what you wish for, losing Miles would be a big setback to our program.

Assuming his agent tries to work this notional offer, does anyone think Miles deserves a raise or contract extension to stay?

Maybe, but he's had other offers before and he's still at LSU. I don't think he goes anywhere unless LSU fires him.

I can't imagine him leaving but it is really scary for us if something crazy happens and he does...
