Pelini is a piece of shite. He promised a veteran in. PR event that he would let the guy call a play in a game, then when the guy wanted to actually do it, Pelini flippantly ignored his request and gave some smart arse comment. Do not want.

This is a pretty weird thing to be upset about

I don’t want fans calling in plays

Pelini’s d wasn’t that good at LSU.

Are you kidding me? He helped win the 2007 NC at LSU, along side Miles' Offense. That feat in itself says he's a damn good DC. Both Chavis and Aranda didn't accomplish that with Miles.

Our offense in 07 was an innovative spread offense. We didn’t go to the wing t shite until 2008 went to hell

Aranda and Chavis had better years as coordinators for LSU.

Wrong. Gary Crowton wasn't allowed to go full spread, except in certain situations like 3rd and forever. He could have implemented a full spread offense but Miles wouldn't allow it. Cam Cameron could have implemented a full spread offense as well, he did it as HC at Indiana with a QB named Antwaan Randle-El, but again Miles didn't want a spread offense.

I was pretty young when Pelini was at LSU, was he a raving lunatic there too? I think the media and pressure at Nebraska got to him, but seems like he’s a lot calmer at YSU. Granted I’m being paid millions from your former employer to coach another team probably makes it easier

He would be great as a DC. His scheme is great defensive backs playing man and big guys up front. Sounds about right. Would not be a fan favorite, but would be a great hire.

See it with your own eyes. 2007 LSU vs Auburn final play. Flynn under center, two backs in the backfield, 2 WR's, and a TE. Yeah that's a spread alright.

Pelini had top 5 defenses at LSU. He actually got screwed at Nebraska. He was winning there but their administration was a bunch of sissies.

A lot of that had to do with the cheap shot by auburn to Dorsey, he was hobbled most of the season till the bowl game

What does that have to do with LSUs offensive ranking?

Does anyone really want to see 230lb safeties in the dime and nickel slots to "stop the run" against spread teams again? I can't imagine that scheme would work in modern NCAA. That guy got those players fricking torched. Do you guys remember who use to play those positions? It wasn't pretty. We got burned every. single. time. exploiting the safeties size against slot WRs.

Everyone is spread now and Bo use to struggle against spread teams specifically because he had safeties out of place in his scheme.

I was just thinking about the 2006 UF game and how we’d have Curtis Taylor and Danny McCray covering speedy inside receivers.

I wasn’t a fan of his scheme but his presence on the sideline kept a lot of shite together with Les in lala land and Jimbo upstairs.

That was like 14 years ago dude. College football evolved since then and his scheme doesn't fit modern NCAA. Maybe he'd change it, I don't know. I don't want to find out though when LSU has their pickings of whoever they want as DC right now. Bo Pelini wouldn't be on my short list.
