Hire Aranda and we’re in the title mix for as long as he is here.

Aranda is the most solid hire that will build the whole PROGRAM from beginning to end. He can hire good OC’s and recruits will be lining up to play for him and the monster he will build and maintain here.

The Rant would have put For Sale signs in his front yard after he lost to TCU last week. You guys are way too reactionary from game to game. Next week he will get his arse kicked and it will be someone else you want.

I agree we’d be a title contender by season 2 and would likely own the SEC once Saban retired.

The knock on him is recruiting. But I don’t buy it. The best LBs in the country would be itching to play for him and with our home grown recruiting base I don’t expect is to lose much at all on that front.

He hired a decent OC and we are good to go.

I'm not saying he isn't a good coach. These people who want Aranda so bad are the same people who wanted ED and wanted to retain Les. I'll be honest at LSU his defense were average to a little above average. I just don't think he's what LSU needs. I could be wrong and if he's hired i hope i'm wrong.

Aranda is about as unproven as it gets in college football. How is Aranda ready to take over the LSU job? He's not. Not even remotely!

Aranda's career win percentage as a head coach as of yesterday is .467%.

What exactly leads you to believe he is championship level right now?

Everyone is looking back with all these fond memories of Aranda's defense here but no one seems to remember that in 2019, if we didn't have the greatest offense of all time, we could have easily lost 4 games.

We gave up:
38 points to Texas
38 Points to Vandy
41 Points to Bama
and 37 Points and all the yards to Ole Piss.

Texas a top team at home and we made the stops needed to come back and win that. It's not the same to compare what a team does after they lose.

Vandy game he said they were tinkering. Giving up 38 points when you double the score is completely irrelevant. I like a coach willing to tinker in a game that will never be in doubt. We also had defensive guys making business decisions in that game. It wasn't worth risking injury over. I really do not get people that hold the Vandy game against him. Those are games you should tinker.

41 points to Bama is nothing to be embarrassed about. That team was filthy loaded on offense. The final score didn't really reflect how well we played them. They had those two huge plays off of Stingley sleeping I believe. And a special teams TD? I don't think LSU ever trailed in this game.

The Ole Miss game is where injuries really hurt us against one fast dude. I believe this was the game that Delpit came back and was clearly not ready. If we hadn't kneeled in that game we could have still won by 4 possessions. 4!

Now how about what Aranda did when the defense was healthy after the Ole Miss game? Why don't you bring up the A&M, UGA, OU, and Clemson games? Hmm? When it mattered more?

I'd rather a coach that is at his best when it actually matters than in games that are not even in jeopardy. Tell me what other DC that season holds Lawrence to 0 TDs passing and Etienne well under 100 yards? OU scored a garbage TD late, but that was as impressive. These were the top 2 offenses outside of LSU.

I'm sorry, not sorry, but it is incredible stupid to hold the Vandy game against him. When you score 66 you can afford to give up some points. I think a few starters out in that game as well. I actually think it is smarter to play a Vandy this way than to go all out and risk further injury just to appease a fan base about "stats." LSU could have named their score against Vandy. I believe Brennan threw a pick in this game.

Vandy also had 2 defensive touchdowns.

You could not be any more wrong.

I hated Les Miles for the 2011 title game. I hated he wouldn't let go of the offense. I celebrated his firing.

When O was hired I melted harder than anyone. I was pissed. I was so mad at 247 trying to rationalize O as the hire that I ended my subscription and never returned. I know silly, but still. That hire made me hate anyone and everyone at the time.

Aranda is one of the most impressive coaches I have seen from a tactical standpoint. I have always been impressed by his resume. He may be my favorite coach of all-time.
