Hey BamaScoop: If you're right and Saban is LSU's next coach

...who is Bama's next coach?

I don't know, the logical choice would be coach Croom but I don;t think they would hire him. Too may old rednecks still in charge at Alabama. I think Croom is a class act and have said that from the beggining.
I think if Saban does leave after only one year it will almost have to be someone from BAMA like Croom to come back because at that point we would be somewhat of a coaching graveyard.

Bama will not be hiring a HC coach for atleast a year.

It would be fun to watch Croom at Bama...but I think you're right about the not-so-silent majority not wanting him.
How many legitimate candidates have ties back to Coach Bryant...do you know?

Croom is the only one left that I know of.

Scoop, if all of this goes down as you have said, will you tell us how you knew all of this several months ago? Inquiring minds and all that . . .

I seriously doubt Saban would come back here. It would be too absurd, even for Saban.
I also don't feel he is welcome here by many.

Sure, but I ahve already hinted to where I would be getting this info from. Also, a good friend that I see a couple of times a week, his dad use to be the AD at BAMA. He also applied for the AD job at LSU once and was turned down. the guy I hear things from is an LSU guy not a BAMA guy, but he is n=in birmingham. He is a DR. and you know him if you are an LSU fan.

Bamascoop is full of crap...and is well known on all Bama boards as being a poser rival fan. Surely even you LSU fans can tell that. Saban is not leaving Bama for a number of reasons....but just of for the fun of it....I would like to hire Muschamp if he did leave. Muschamp is a young charismatic guy who is a Saban disciple. He knows how to recruit and build great D's thanks to his time with Saban. The only thing he would need is a good OC(which Saban needs too)....Muschamp would jump on the Bama job faster than you could blink. Would be quite a match-up every year....Saban the teacher.....vs. Muschamp the disciple. I personally think LSU should go hire the Missouri coach....that guy is the real deal.

Dr. James Andrews.
So, Saban tells him months ago that he wants to go back to LSU? Also, the son of the former AD, Hootie Ingram (?)is feeding you information?
Al Del Greco reported the same today on WJOX in Birmingham. Maybe Saban wants to come back but LSU doesn't want him at this point?

Earlier this year maybe. After the ULM loss, no way. Not trying to flame you, but after you lose 5 or more games again next season, even Saban will feel the heat and Muschamp knows this.

I haven't said any of those names but lets just see what happens. If Saban doesn't go back it is because he wasn't welcome back.

never knew james andrews was an LSU guy...is he a die hard?
Posted on 11/30/07 at 2:12 am to The Egg
He was a polevaulter at LSU.
Posted on 11/30/07 at 2:13 am to BamaScoop
Which will probably be the case.
But, if Saban was wanting out of Bama after only one season, or during one season, you guys have some serious problems over there, as we saw the last 4 games. If Saban feels hopeless about fixing it, I wonder if it can be fixed?

....Saban's not leaving Bama. If he did, fine. I'd like to see what he could do for us over time (10+ years)....but he's not leaving Bama.....yet

BamaScoop is insane. He's hung around you guys so long he's starting to dream in purple and yellow ( I know you call it gold, but I know yellow when I see it).
There's no chance of Saban leaving Bama after ONE year. Even if he does like LSU more, which I REALLY doubt, he has too much pride to quit and run.

I don't know if it's a pride thing, but I agree that it's a long shot for him to bail after his first year at Bama to return to a school where he previously coached. I think he's at Bama for the next few years.
BUT, I think he really regrets leaving LSU and would rather be there than Bama.
