The obvious play for LSU, it would seem, is to pursue Houston coach Tom Herman. Many in the coaching profession believe Herman, of all the jobs he could take, has had his eye on LSU for a while.

Just rumors from people in the coaching world. Click bait most likely.

Herman also has his eye on Texas. We know he is picky, ask USCe.

Did he say, "It's a quality university"? Because if he did he can stay away!

Correct. But it is the USA Today. So there's some credibility there.

Every coaching hire cycle is a roll of the dice even if the former coach needed to go.

In-state Louisiana talent, legend in Houston, and other Texas in-roads..
I mean that's an attractive combo to go along with $5.5M/year and a well paid staff

Bret Bielema: It wouldn’t be totally crazy for LSU to pursue an Arkansas coach. In fact, when Miles was hired, Nutt was a candidate for the job and has subsequently said there was a time he thought the deal would get done. Likewise, there are rumors Arkansas pursued Miles at one point, which prompted the Tigers to extend his deal and give him a raise.

Jeez those names after Jimbo and Herman are no chance candidates
