What about Alleva? Any chance the board kicks his arse to the curb? We've committed millions of dollars to coaching buyouts over the last few years, not to mention all of the PR disasters.

And thanks for posting.

Why does a D-Line coach have a hand in the running game?

Dave Aranda has a few intersting marks in his contract. He cannot entertain an SEC school until 2020. Period. He was given a HCIW tag as well. Orgeron is well aware and expects him to stay on staff.

Most of us up here dont expect Coach Orgeron to make it to 2019. Not with how the boosters are reacting. Much like you all. Defeated and depressed.

I publicly petition Chicken to keep the CC board open all year.

Who's with me?

GOAT first post of the CC board, although it’s pretty depressing.

Except for this part, which is all that matters.

So sad that this is even believable, but I can see it happening.

What a fricking joke.

I do remember UT talking about Gilbert and his oline coach being a package.

I really feel bad for Ensminger in all of this. The administration and Coach O are putting him into a position to fail. The guy clearly bleeds P&G and loves the university, but he is letting his loyalty put him in a bad spot.

If it were me and seeing how all this crap go down, I'd walk away before being allowed to be drug into the impending shite show.

This is the only thing I doubt. Coordinators don’t have staffs—head coaches do. There’s just no way that Gilbert, at this point in his career, actually thought he had the juice to ask for that. I don’t know. Not that it really matters all that much at this point.

Alleva’s days should be fricking numbered.

He forgot about his involvement in the duke lacross rape fiasco?

Doesn't sound like anyone tried very hard.
Your post says O went for Briles, called Gilbert - was turned down, Kiffin, then Ensminger.
Call 7 - 20 more OCs before settling on SE.

Orgeron set his sights on Briles, and was shut down before he could get the words out of his mouth.

Gilbert was never interviewed. Gilbert was contacted and before anything, asked to bring his own staff in. Orgeron said no. And that was that for Gilbert.

Orgeron contacted Lane Kiffin with the approval of Alleva and offered him the same contract as Dave Aranda and was turned down, but not without Kiffin basically planting the briles idea into his head.

Briles would be the last attempt at an OC.

I dont know why this matters to me, other than to accentuate the complete discombobulation of our football program

1. O pitches Briles, and is shot down immediately by our AD/BOR
2. Feelers out to Gilbert next, no dice
3. then we reach out to the HC of FAU, turned down by Kiffin
4. and then a final attempt to try for Briles a 2nd time?

If this timeline is accurate, then the offical exodus of Canada, coupled with the announcement of Briles to UofH makes LSU look even more incompetent than I could have ever believed

......& I think they are fricking idiots
