So you expect me to believe Gilbert and briles, who make a third of what Lsu would offer, would turn us down? Not buying it at all.

I think the LSU leaders are too pussy to hire Briles, is the problem

So you're saying Aranda actually does have head coach aspirations? An opinion held by a lot of Orgeron loyalists on this board is that he's not interested in being a HC. Aranda could walk in and demand the job today. It's probably what is needed. If he wants to lead the program, he needs to take control and responsibility for what's best for the program. With Alleva and above not willing to do it, he's the only one.
i'll be the first to volunteer my services for aranda's inevitable coup.

felt like Miles wanted to groom Aranda when he brought him in. Miles was close to both milestones and retirement age, I think he believed he could ride off into the sunset with a ton of LSU records and leave the program in good hands. And I think he believed that his tenure and overall record had earned him that right. It's really insane that there's been so much effort put into discrediting him, after all that he accomplished here.
Yeah it’s not cool how things ended with Les. Yes, Les had proved unable to field a decent offense. But the LSU leadership just fricked up so bad. Instead of ending it nearly when he was carried off the field after the 2015 A&M win, it got messy and ugly.
Really, if only Les would’ve modernized the offense, LSU would be a contender.

Was he not determined for the last 25 years of his career?
Was his determination the reason he hasn't been hired as an OC since Clinton was in office?
Don't confuse determination with aspiration.

This place is heavy on pessimism and rightfully so but I don't think Esminger is getting a fair shake. I honestly believe we won't be worse off next year offensively.
I actually liked SE play calling more than Canada's.
If you look at the SE passing statistics it was more diversified, much more rec to multiple WRs and TEs.
SE offense broke muliple records with Danny Etling at QB, DANNY ETLING!!
Aside from the two loses against really good defenses in Bama and Florida(which we should have won) we were pretty dominate and composed.
I think SE did a hell of a job considering being thrown into the position during the season.
Now that we pretty much know he will be OC and I've been thinking about it i'm kinda cautiously optimistic on what he can do with a more accurate passer such as a Myles Brennan and a whole offseason to prepare.
I wanted Freeze the bama killer but I don't think Esminger as OC is as bad as everyone believes.

Briles was considered too toxic to hire by the administration and it was said by many UT and USF people that Gilbert will have to bring his O line coach with him. They are a package deal and not allowing him to come with Gilbert would be a deal breaker. So yeah it's actually incredibly likely he turned us down if O or whoever wouldn't allow him to bring his O line coach with him.

It wasn’t his offense. He didn’t develop that. He just adapted Cam’s offense.
We’ve never really seen an Ensminger offense.

Well he ran Cam's offense better than Cam

Exactly. No one has a clue what SEs offense is, unless we have VHS tapes of the 90s

My dead grandmother could have called better plays than Cam did. Doesn’t mean she should be our OC

Cam didn't get to play against those horrible defenses that steve played against. That offense did nothing against any defense with a pulse.
Plus, you have no idea if tgats the offense that he'll run. Rumor is it's a completely different offense (west coast) than Steve has ever been apart of. That's a scary thing

Jimbo because there wasnt a chance in hell that year.
I've said this from the get. frick Joe Alleva. He sabotaged this program. I knew Jimbo was unrealistic. You don't try to fire Miles without a concrete plan.

Apparently Cam’s offenses were incredibly difficult to scheme against but the play calling was atrocious.
One of my best buds played against LSU and was saying his d Coordinator was having a melt down pregame because of all the different looks our offense could give. All over the whiteboard in the lockeroom still scheming pregame and genuinely melting. But Cam would piss away games with play calling. He said he’d never seen worse play calling and Fournette and company should have murdered them.

We also had zero qb play in those years outside of mettenberger

I still think that was Les driving that play calling.
Cam gets a bad rap, but the dude was a good OC at the top of the football pyramid for a long damn time.

Ensminger had Fournette, Guice, Dupre, and Dural to work with in his system. Take a look at what Canada had to work with this past season. Outside of Guice, Williams, and Chark; who else really stood out? Next season will be worse. The offense will be totally depleted of talent outside of a few young guys.

Possibly. But the lack of QB development was the bigger issue.
I just found the story funny. He said he had never seen his D Coordinator melting down so hard.
