Heitner also said Spurrier is pushing Frost. Spurrier then refuted that. I’m telling you, Darren doesn’t know.
This has been his MO since college.

He admitted he hated recruiting when he was in the NFL. Now he’d be in a state where he’d have to fend off every top school in the country.
He regularly went into Texas which arguably has more programs going into for players then anywhere and got top recruits to go to Oregon.

Right. So he was 2-2 against Stanford. Thanks for backing me up on this. And it wasn't just Stanford. Ohio St, Auburn, and LSU also very much dictated the pace of play to him.
All this shows is that you are a prisoner to zero sum thinking. The teams you say dictated pace Ohio St finished #5, LSU went undefeated in the regular season for the first time since 58 and finished #2 and Auburn won the NC. 2012 Stanford won 12 and finished #7. He lost a grand total of 7 games in 4 years at Oregon, you have mentioned 5. The other 2 were Boise who went 14-0 and finished #4 and USC who went 11-2 and finished #6. He also made the playoffs in the NFL and was 10-6 his first 2 years.
Now if you were a Florida fan concerned he might not win a NC I could maybe understand. But as a LSU fan given we play FLA ever year if you are not concerned about Kelly possibly going there, you are clueless.

Of course he won't. It's Florida. We already saw him bend over backwards for them last year over the bs hurricane scheduling. Why would this be any different ?

Nobody's doubting Chip's ability to develop talent, but he's still more likely to drive the school into a ditch with recruiting. UAA really needs to be careful with their selection, because they could go from zero to Tennessee with a quickness if they don't get this right.

Why do people say this? Oregon was 11-2 the year after he left and had enough talent for Mark Helfrich to play for the National Title 2 years after he was gone. I wouldn’t be surprised if his recruiting classes were the highest ranked for Oregon. Remember it’s Oregon they have no local talent base.

Tennessee’s problem is they keep making bad hires but Florida has one of the best recruiting bases in CFB Tennessee really doesn’t.

Kelly has said repeatedly that recruiting isn't his jam. I'd attribute his success at Oregon to be a credit to his staff. To be sure, he could make good hires in Gainesville too, but we thought Boom and McElwain could coast on local talent queueing up, too and all that got them was underemployed.

Chip Kelly ain't the wizard. Relax.

Has he? Or did he say it once and it gets repeated by others over and over? Or maybe it’s just assumed?

No one can coast on talent. I try to tell knucklehead LSU fans that all the time. I just mean given the talent base and resources it’s easier to fix Florida than Tennessee but if they keep making bad hires it can’t fix itself.

Like my old pap used to say
Florida needs to “shite or get off the pot”

Pretty positive this is correct. It's a narrative that's used a bit much. He didn't enjoy recruiting but he certainly recruited kids from all over and did well being at Oregon.

He certainly had a good staff, one he inherited and they all deserve credit. He only replaced the WR's coach with Scott Frost and DL coach with his buddy Jerry Azzinaro and hired Mark Helfrich as OC/QB coach.
Of course Kelly brought Oregon to heights never seen before so Kelly gets credit for that whether you think so or not. He was the driving force behind that.
