Darren Heitner ?@DarrenHeitner
I’m now hearing that SEC commissioner has chosen to not stand in way of Florida hiring Chip Kelly if he is the school’s selection. Reporting with @biggamejames36.

Horrifying, since Kelly was my #1 favorite for the LSU job. There were rumors out of Philly that Kelly actually contacted LSU in 2015 to see if the job would be open.

I do not look forward to seeing Chip Kelly with Florida players. It's going to be a nightmare each and every year.

I truly believe Chip Kelly is not a good fit and will fail at Florida. Just my opinion.

If Sankey allowed Pearl, Kelly is a no brainer.
I would rather Frost if I was a Fla fan.
I think Frost is about to revive the Huskers.

Seriously. There's so much overreacting on both sides here. Chip will make UF pretty good again, but he doesn't "scare" me in the least. People seem to have the idea that it will be an augmented version of what he did at Oregon, and I don't see that happening. He showed the complete inability to "grind it out" when the time came, which is why Stanford continually gave him a tough time. His teams were soft, and the opponent always dictated the tempo when they were physical. UF can have him. This won't be Meyer 2.0. Not by a long shot.

this is one of the dumbest talking points about Chip. He lost twice to Stanford (first year in 2009, and that big upset at home in 2012 when they lost by 3 in OT) but he also absolutely demolished Stanford in 2010 and 2011 when they had Andrew Luck. Those Stanford teams only had 1 loss, to Chip.

Do people say Ole Miss continually gave Saban a tough time?

You guys were one big play away from losing to Florida.

Who got blown out by Missouri, and we don't even have a fricking team this year.

You don't think with the offensive talent that will carry over/is coming in, Kelly won't be able to outcoach Orgeron?

Good luck, man.

He'd be coaching against Aranda, really.

Amazing these schools go after big names and we get Orgeron. Wow.

Alleva is so incompetent it's amazing.

He had a good defense all four years he was head coach at Oregon. Two of those were very good.

Now imagine a bigger beefed-up line on defense, the kind he couldn't ever acquire at Oregon.

Right. So he was 2-2 against Stanford. Thanks for backing me up on this. And it wasn't just Stanford. Ohio St, Auburn, and LSU also very much dictated the pace of play to him.

If saban had only stayed at bama for 4 years and had lost to ole miss twice, then yes, they would.

LSU also beat Auburn, who, last I checked, is having a pretty good season.

Maybe, but we've got a pretty damn good DC.

Won't need it. Florida's been LSU's bitch for about the past 7 years. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

What offensive mind out there do you think is better than Chip Kelly?

I’d be more worried of Frost than Kelly. However, Kelly would still be amazing for the Gators.

I think he is a very good offensive mind. I don't think he gives two shits about defense. At Oregon I saw his team lose shootouts just because the other team had the ball last. better fit for the big 12. Also he is an abrasive personality just like UF 's last coach. No recruiting connections anywhere in the south as well. Just an overall bad fit IMO
