There was a large contingent that would have melted over Riley.
People would rightly say that Saban was too old to start over.
And some would say Aranda hasn’t been a head coach long enough.

The issue you’re having is people coming down from a 2 month search where they let their imaginations run wild as to who we’d get
Personally I think Riley was the guy. He fricked us so we threw money at Kelly, ND elected not to counter because they know they can get Fickell for less.
Doesn’t make this an L or anything but that seems plausible
