He cares more about Lane than the program and that is detrimental to “the process” a lot of times.

If they lose to Miss State, that’ll once again be obvious.

This is the strangest thing to me.

Generally speaking, by the time you’re 30 years old or so, you’re pretty much who you’re going to be for the rest of your life. Lane Kiffin was born in 1975…which means that all of the shenanigans we know about took place in his 30s and 40s.

He’s just a low-character guy. And that just doesn’t change.

some Ole Miss fans think him flirting with the Auburn opening messed up their 2022 season...

maybe. He is still human. Ole Miss is not a final destination place .This was all inevitable. They just so happen to be having a great year. He is in an impossible position

Only 2 CUSA titles. He's not worth it.

It really has been interesting to watch one guy who has never actually won anything dragging 3 programs around by the gonads. College football is amazing.

I totally agree with you OP. I can’t forget Tennessee literally rioting when he went to USC. And he sucked so bad, they fired him and made Ed Orgeron their head coach. I mean he hasn’t won shite yet at Ole Miss and yet all these posters are ready to coronate him as the second coming of Nicholas Saban.

I hated Les Miles since the second half of his first game. But at least that sob was loyal and left Michigan in the lurch. I don’t see Kiffin ever being loyal.

Actually, I’m sick of the drama already and I’m ready to go ahead and fire his arse!

OP is spot on. I would rather take the risk with an unknown like Sumrall or others vs a known coach like kiffin who doesn't have major success

Sumrall over kiffin?

People at Tulane already don't like his oc.

Counter point: Did your school forget about this when they hired him?

Will LSU forget?

When someone shows you who they are, believe them. You signed up for it. Remember the Freeze days and the #worthit hashtag? Was it worth it?

You hire Kiffin you're getting Kiffin. Just like a whore and a housewife: don't wed him and try to make him something he's not.

I'm honestly perplexed why so many ole miss fans are so shocked at all of this. You knew what you were getting.

If anyone in any other line of work tried this shite, they’d be way overplaying their hand. Likely his two prospective employers would just tell him to pound sand, we’re on to the next candidate, while his current employer would just let him go.

Not in the world of sports. It’s a different realm altogether.

He would change that for 8 million a year. We could do a lot worse than Sumrall.

I don't think Lane is a sure thing to be successful, but he'd be an upgrade over Brian Kelly. I'm not sure if he's worth $14-15/yr but it's not my money. It just seems like there aren't many major candidates that are realistic this coaching cycle.

Give me Sumrall for half the price over Kiffin. Made Kentucky good. Won at Troy. Winning at Tulane.

If he goes to Auburn and has the resources, he concerns me as much if not more than Kiffin to LSU.

You don’t have to worry about Auburn right now. They are 2 hours from Tuscaloosa and 2 hours to Athens. Completely overshadowed by 2 bigger programs

The right coach with the backing will make Auburn relevant. Auburn isn’t dead and the right hire will show it. Hell they’ve been close this year.

He isn't the best coach in college ball. If he lands at LSU he will be the highest paid HC. Questionable character. Good play caller but as a head coach he hasn't been otherworldly.

Ole Miss is like the 9th or 10th best job in the SEC. What he has done there has been amazing. Same with Drinkwitz at Missouri. People want to discount both.

He was a kid. There are many hall of fame coaches that failed early in their careers.

Ole Miss had 8 nfl draft picks last year(2 in the first round) and the best QB in the SEC(maybe nation) and they lost to lsu, Florida, and Kentucky . They were fricking loaded and lost 3 times to sketchy arse teams

Kiffin teams find ways to lose to worse teams every year . Brian kelly had a far better track record of “only” losing when getting out talented
