Yes. 3 yr contract. If he leaves before March 31, 2026 he owes $5+ million

LSU hired Offensive Coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. from Ole Miss on a three-year, $6 million contract, starting at roughly $1.9 million annually and increasing, making him a top-paid assistant, with a significant termination clause if he leaves early. He followed new head coach Lane Kiffin, but was granted permission to coach Ole Miss through their College Football Playoff run before officially joining the Tigers.
Contract Details:
Length: 3 years
Total Value: $6 million
Starting Salary: Around $1.9 million (increasing annually)
Key Feature: A termination clause costing an estimated $5.7 million if he left before March 31, 2026, although this was waived for his CFP commitment.

Can he legally work with Ole Miss if he's employed by LSU?

He's probably just signed an MOU.

right a termination clause would mean if LSU fired him he would get 5.7 mill.
so was this signed?. or not how can he be employed by both places?

what is the buyout for this contract assuming it is signed? 1.5 mil. 500,000? lane kiffins buy out was 6mil on a 7 year contract.. charlie Weiss walks in and on day one he signed a contract and his buyout is nearly the same as the whole contract. .. before he starts work at LSU?

I wonder if there’s terminology in the contract he signed that says something about starting “when the current ole miss seasons ends”

At least $5 million. I’d bet that the Ole Miss lend carried a special penalty of over $10 Million.

Smart that they made sure Ole miss couldn’t try to convince him to come back

I mean contracts can have verbiage for all types of crazy shite so I am sure there is something somewhere in it that would allow what is happening to happen

If LSU wasn’t protected they wouldn’t have let him finish the playoffs. He also posted about both LSU and Ole Miss in his Broyles tweet.

He’s joining Kiffin when the season is over . Move on.
