Steven Godfrey
@38Godfrey
News: Auburn’s “search” is now more of a search, albeit with a powerful group still backing usurper Kevin Steele. Candidates - Sarkisian, Napier, Elliott, and I’d now add Neal Brown. Brown might be the best positioned to bridge the chasms between various factions on The Plains.

Don’t see Venables listed. He was said to be one of the 5 candidates invited to interview.

Isn't Gus better than all of those candidates?

The guy who has not changed his offense in 7 years and surrounded himself with overpaid yes-men? Yeah he was great.

Just 3 years ago Gus beat Georgia and Bama in consecutive weeks.

He was also a few plays away from winning the 2013 National Title. That resume is better than a lot of those guys listed

u make points that many have already made but after 8 years they were not moving forward and the AU fan base including some big time donors were not going to have it anymore. Think of people like yello man etc. When big money people talk then AU athletic department people listen. I am pretty sure this is how it works.

Hahahahahaha.

Firing Gus for Neal Brown would be an epic fail.

Aubie would be bailing WV out.

Brown has done a good job laying foundation to fix the mess he inherited

But if he left I’d be all over Fickle to come WVU

He was the guy most of us wanted two years ago

Sure. And since then he has gone 1-5 against those teams. Literally the worse you can do without being winless.

Steele makes no sense at all. I can't believe Auburn would put all their trust in an unproven HC to go against Saban. Gus already proved he could beat Saban but that wasn't enough. If Auburn does hire Steele, it will set them back years and they will become South Carolina of the West.
